Unsurprisingly, he found the younger ones in very obvious spots. But what he didn't expect, was to see Fetch hiding with Gage. They were hiding under one of the slides.
Why were they hiding together?
Delta assumed they were doing it just in case they got stuck.
Though, knowing the littler kids didn't like being found first, Delta 'moved on' and after a bit of 'struggling', he loudly announced to the children, "Wow, y'all are sooo good at hiding! I'm not sure if I'm gonna find anyone!"
He heard some of the children giggle - one came from right above where he was standing in the structure. He swiftly looked up, and realized that they probably hid in the structure itself.
Sighing, he popped off his shoes and began to crawl into the structure.
They climbed up the small set of foam 'stairs', quickly coming to the actual levels of the structure. Above them in one of the little nooks that you'd have to climb to get to a high spot, he heard a child giggling.
Delta quickly checked, to find Irene curled into a little ball, staring down at him. She was surprised to see him look her way, but laughed, "You found me!"
Delta smiled, chuckling, "Yeah, I did! You wanna come help me find the others?" He asked, offering a hand down from the little nook. It was quite high for a child. They weren't sure how she managed to get up there, the nook was taller than her.
Irene gladly took the help, and Delta quickly held her up as she hopped down.
She giggled as she looked up at him, "You walked right past two of them!" She teased lightly.
Delta chuckled, "Oh, did I? Where were they?" He asked.
Irene laughed and covered her mouth, "I don't knooow~"
Delta just smiled down at her, "Well, then can you give me a hint? I don't know where they could be!" He knew where the others were, but enjoyed playing the fool.
Irene shook her head, huffing, "No! I'm not a snitch!"
Delta just chuckled, "That's fine, then! I'll go out and look." He said, and began to exit the play area.
Irene's eyes widened slightly and she immediately tried to jump on him to stop him, "Nooo! They're not out there!" She whined.
Delta was surprised by the fact that this random child he literally just met was confident enough to jump on him to try to stop him, but was also somewhat impressed, "Oh- alright, alright!" He quickly stopped trying to leave, startled.
Suddenly, he got a call.
He flinched at the sudden ringing of the phone, carefully getting it out as Irene let go of him, proud of herself.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Where are you?" A voice replied. The same one as before.
Delta's face fell as he sighed, rolling his eyes, "Dude, we had this conversation a few days ago. You have the wrong number," he spat, irritated by the unknown caller.
"Hey, sorry, where are you? You're supposed to be here by now." Is all it responded with.
"Wrong number," Delta said harshly. But as he was about to hang up, the voice said something new.
"They're coming, too." It muttered.
Delta paused as he hesitantly put the phone back up so he could hear, "... who?"
"They are." It repeated.
"Who is 'they'?" Delta asked, although he wasn't quite sure that he wanted to know the answer.
