Luke had left Delta for a small bit, as his brother had called him over for help with homework.

Delta stayed on the couch, just quietly chilling with the people around them. The kids were watching TV and talking among themselves, while Delta was content with minding his business as he watched the TV with them.

That was, until, Karma decided to come over and make some conversation.

Karma had been hesitating, constantly sneaking glances at Delta. He had so many questions. But, he also was aware that he had been pretty rude towards Delta earlier, and felt a bit bad.

So, slowly walking over, Karma put his hands in his pockets and plopped down on the opposite end of the couch. He didn't want to bother Delta too much, or make it seem intentional.

Unfortunately, Delta was incredibly paranoid and observant. He glanced at Karma, suspicion evident in their eyes. Why was he sitting nearby? What did he want?

Karma accidentally made eye contact with him. Swiftly glancing away as his stress grew, he nervously tapped his hands on the couch.

Delta decided to confront him.

"You got something to say?" Delta asked, a bit worried. He wasn't sure what else Karma could possibly want from him.

Karma paused for a moment, before sighing and turning to Delta. "Alright. I've been an ass. I wanted to apologize."

Delta was surprised. They hadn't expected that.

Karma continued, "I was real suspicious of you at first since I had no idea who you were or why you had our kid. But you've been consistent in your answers to everyone else here from what I've heard, so I have no reason to be an ass to you. I'm sorry."

Delta was impressed. Usually people didn't admit they had done something wrong, or even apologize - to him, at least. His friends did it when they annoyed him too much, but for a stranger to do this, especially a human stranger? That was unheard of.

"... it's alright. I don't blame you for being suspicious," Delta said, allowing himself to relax a bit. "If i saw some stranger holding my kid, I'd get suspicious, too."

Karma couldn't help but smile a bit at that. He nodded, relaxing as well.

"Alright, glad for that then." He replied.

There was a short, awkward silence between them. Neither knew what else to say.

Beta, bored as shit, decided to break this silence.

The child's transparent orange figure appeared next to Delta, floating above the couch, making the other quickly look towards him.

"You think he's being genuine?" Beta whispered.

Before Delta could respond, though, Karma did. "Yes, I am. Who're you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

Beta and Delta quickly swiveled to look, the exact same shocked expression on both of their faces as they spoke in perfect unison, with Delta pointing at Beta and Beta pointing at himself, "You can see him/me?"

Karma couldn't help but snicker at how in sync the two were, though was a bit confused. "Uh, yeah? Why?"

Beta instantly lit up, excitement filling his eyes, "HOLY SHIT! YOU CAN SEE ME!!!" He shouted in glee.

Delta chuckled, chiding the kid gently, "Hey, language! There are other kids around!"

Beta was unbothered by this and ignored it. "Wait, how can you see me? Are you another ghost?!" The kid asked, a giant grin plastered on his face as he and Delta began to give off a faint orange glow.
