Color heard a thud hit the ground, then a sigh. He flinched lightly, swiftly turning around to see who was there. To his surprise, he saw Delta.

"...Delta?" Color called to him, unsure if it was him or not. But the brightly glowing eyes told him that it was.

"Hey." Delta replied in a cold tone, obviously irritated as he tried to calm himself down. Unfortunately for them, Color knew them well and was able to tell immediately that he was upset.

"What happened?" He asked as he approached his friend.

Delta knew that even if they tried to hide their anger, Color knew better than to believe it. But they also knew that Color wouldn't undermine them for expressing their anger.

Yet still, he tried to push it off, "'S nothing." He mumbled, crossing their arms.

Color paused, barely restraining himself from sassing them. But he didn't want to make Delta any angrier, especially if he didn't know why his friend was angry.

Color decided against his better judgement.

"That's bullshit if I've ever heard it. You gonna tell me, or am I playing the 'guessing game' again?" He sassed, keeping eye contact.

Delta rolled his eyes in annoyance, but Color noticed that they didn't glow any brighter, so he took it as that he was not the one to piss Delta off. That was a very good sign.

Color waited a moment for a response. "Alright, guessing game it is. You get into a fight?"

"Yeah."

"Who?"

"You wanted to play the guessing game, you figure it out." Delta snapped at him.

"... yeah, that's fair." Color shrugged. He examined Delta a bit more closely. [They don't seem physically hurt, just upset. But they tried to mask it when I called them out... oh, I know who it was now.]

"You got into an argument with Ink again, didn't you?"

Delta paused, both surprised and unsurprised how he got it so quickly. But he nodded.

"Figured so. Do you wanna talk about it?" Color asked, sitting down.

Delta followed his lead, sitting on the ground with him. He thought for a moment, then nodded yes.

Color nodded back, "I know we just sat down, but do you wanna stay here, or go somewhere else? I don't mind either way."

Delta thought a moment, "... We can stay here."

Color nodded, "Alright, go on then. What happened?"

"Got into a fight with Fell, he started it. He was being such an ass. I found some weird crack in the ground, so I went to tell Ink. But he asked about Fell, said it's 'not his fault he's an ass'-" Delta slightly mocked Ink when he said it, "So we got into an argument about that."

Color nodded, "Yeah, I get it. What did Fell do to start a fight?"

Delta looked slightly embarrassed. They hadn't really been wanting to fight, and yet got enticed into it anyways.

It took him a minute, but it clicked for Color, "... he challenged you, didn't he."

Delta nodded, looking down to avoid eye contact. "Yeah. Yeah, he did."

Color sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, "Delta-"

"He started it!" He quickly tried to defend himself.

Color quickly cut him off, "I know that, I'm not blaming you for fighting! Hell, if some asshole challenged me, I'd probably would have fought them, too." Color reasoned before his friend could get too defensive.

"Oh." Delta relaxed quickly when they realized they weren't being scolded again.

A comfortable silence fell between the two, Color silently checking in on him once again. To his surprise, Delta's eyes were no longer glowing, and they seemed much calmer and more relaxed now. He took that as a good sign.

"... sorry." They muttered.

"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault. I don't blame you for thinking I was gonna be a bitch." Color shrugged.

Delta cracked a smile, he couldn't help it. Color saw and gave him a teasing look, but smiled back.

"Feeling better?" Color asked, just to make sure.

"Yeah," Delta nodded. "Thank you."

Color nodded, and started to say something. But before he was able to, he got cut off by Delta's phone ringing.

The sudden noise caused both of them to jump, Delta quickly taking his phone out to see who it was.

Their expression dropped, "It's Blue, hold on." They quickly picked up.

"Dream, stop- oh!" Blue whispered to Dream, before noticing Delta had picked up, "Uh, Delta? Hey, Delta?"

"Yes, what?" He sounded more confused than annoyed upon hearing the urgency in Blue's panicked voice.

"So, we may or may not have a small problem, um-" Blue giggled nervously.

Delta took that as a sign that something was seriously wrong, "Ok, can you tell me what the problem is?"

Blue paused, taking a deep breath. "Uh... how 'bout you come see for yourself. You're gonna want to see this."

Delta stood, worry evident in their expression. "Blue, see what? What am I coming to see, is it in the void?"

Color stood with them, confused but mildly concerned. He had next to no context.

"Yeah, it's in the void, but... can you just come see? Please?" Blue pleaded.

Delta grew more concerned, "I'm coming, I'll be there shortly. Is anyone hurt? What can you tell me?"

"No one's hurt! Just, uh-" it sounded as if Blue had leaned away from the phone to ask someone something.

Delta wasn't able to make out what he had said, "What was that?"

"Nothing! Just, uh- just get here as soon as you can." He could hear Blue smile nervously from the other side. They didn't need to see someone's face to know what expression they were making sometimes.

"Alright??" Delta was more confused than anything. Blue hung up after that.

"... well. Guess I gotta go." They looked to Color, who shared the confused expression as they both tried to figure out what the hell was going on.

"Yeah, you should go. If you get the chance, tell me what's going on." Color said, handing him his backpack.

Delta slipped it on one shoulder and nodded, "Will do. Thanks again, I'll see you soon."

Color nodded and gave a wave, "Sure thing, see you soon."

And with that, for what felt like the hundredth time today, Delta summoned a portal and fell right through it, into the void.
