Delta slowly opened their eyes, the first thing they noticed being the quiet talking in the room.

They were laying on a bed. He then noticed the way his fracture felt different now.

Turning their head, they managed a glance. The arm was completely wrapped up in a proper cast.

Confused, Delta began to sit up.

"Karma, I told you, he's fine- oh!" A woman with brown hair and blue glasses in a white doctor's coat quickly turned her head to look at him. "Lay back down, dear, you're still recovering." She ordered gently.

Delta was too tired to fully process it and mumbled something as he laid back down. But after a minute, he realized something was happening.

[... wait. Who's that woman? How'd my arm get wrapped up?] They thought as they remembered what had happened earlier, what felt like only a few minutes ago.

But where was he?

And where was the kid?

Panic filled their mind as he realized what might have happened to him. He shot up immediately, eyes wide in fear, unable to hide it.

"Where's the kid?!" He shouted, breathing shakily as he tried to push himself out of the bed, looking between the older woman and the teen he had seen before.

The teen was holding the toddler.

Delta saw, and quickly summoned their magic. They had no idea if the teen was going to hurt the kid.

The woman, however, quickly put her hands up to stop him, "Hey, hey, calm down! Hold on, let me explain!"

Delta hesitated, but slowly deactivated his magic as he let her speak.

"Okay, just let me explain. My name is Ms. Kelley - this is Karma, and this is Tian." She said, motioning to the teen and the toddler.

Upon hearing his name, Tian looked to his mother, then to Delta. When he saw Delta was awake, he reached out, whining. Karma stopped him from running to him, eyeing Delta suspiciously.

Delta turned to the child, seeing Karma stopping him. He flinched, instinctively activating his magic again to bring the child to him.

"Hold on!" Ms. Kelley quickly said, making Delta stop and turn her way.

"Someone attacked you and Tian. Tian's fine, but you got cut on your knee. We took you to our home because it's closer than the hospital, and Tian didn't want to let go. I'm a doctor, so I decided to just wrap you up while you're here." She finished, motioning to the arm that was now in a proper cast and his leg that was wrapped up and had bandages on it.

Delta relaxed, fully deactivating his magic as he lowered his hands to show he wasn't going to hurt them.

Ms. Kelley smiled, "Thank you. Can you lay back down, please? You have a concussion and the adrenaline drop is probably going to kick in soon." She asked, nodding to the bed.

Delta nodded, "Okay..." He hesitated still. They felt fine! What was this lady on about?

And then they felt it.

Their legs grew heavy as they realized that Ms. Kelley was right. He swiftly hopped back on the bed and laid back down.

Ms. Kelley could tell he was getting dizzy. She quickly grabbed some crackers and a pop, and slowly walked to him so he wouldn't get panicked.

"Hey, I'm gonna give you some food, alright? We'll ask questions once you're done resting." Ms. Kelley said as she walked to his side, putting the drink and bag of crackers on his bed next to him.
