Walking out of the quiet room, Delta and Luke made quiet conversation.

"So, where'd you come from?" Luke asked.

Delta inwardly rolled his eyes at the questions. This question was the most annoying to answer. However, he also knew he couldn't assume things would be spread around, especially so quickly. He didn't know how it worked around here.

So, Delta answered politely, "I'm out far from here. I just moved there." They explained, "How long have you been here?"

Luke nodded, "Oh, nice! And I've been in Brooklyn practically my whole life, but I've been here for... 7, 8 years? Something like that. Less than 10, that's for sure," he chuckled.

Delta's eyes widened slightly in surprise, "Wait, really? You've been here for that long?" They asked.

Luke chuckled, "Yep! It's weird to think of it as that long ago, but yeah, that's around when I got here."

"Wait," Delta paused, thinking for a minute. "'Got here'?"

Luke's smile faded a bit, but he continued as they walked, "Oh, uh, yeah. I didn't... grow up here."

Delta could tell that the question had struck some kind of chord, judging by the way Luke stared emptily at the ground.

Scrambling to apologize as to not upset him any further, Delta quickly spoke up, "Sorry! Sorry, that was rude. I didn't mean to upset you!"

"No no, it's alright! You didn't know, it's ok!" He quickly said, trying to reassure him. "It's alright, really!"

Delta nodded, and let it go. He felt a bit bad, but didn't really know what else to say about it, so he just let it go. "Alright, sorry. Thanks."

Luke just chuckled, "It's alright, no worries. You're fine. Anyways, if you dont mind me asking, where did you live before you moved here?"

Oh shit. Delta didn't think of that.

"Uhhh... well, it- it was a small town, I don't think you'd recognize it," they stumbled to make something up that at least sounded believable.

Luckily, Luke was oblivious to the lie, and nodded, "Yeah, that's fair. I haven't been out of this town in a while, so you're probably right," he responded.

As they continued walking around, they came across an older twenty-something, with an undercut. His hair was a warm, soft brown color (specifically medium champagne), and he wore a white hoodie with dark blue jeans. His eyes were a stunning dark green, which contrasted from the rest of him. He was holding some sort of file as he turned the corner.

Luke brightened up upon seeing him, "Oh! Here, Delta, let me introduce you to him." He said quickly, then rushed straight towards the guy.

Delta was a bit confused by all the people at this point, but he also didn't really care that much. As long as they weren't being assholes, they were fine.

Watching as Luke dragged the man towards them, Delta couldn't help but notice Luke's smile.

It was warm and inviting, a bright kind of smile. It showed his excitement quite clearly as he grinned, squishing his beautiful brown-hazel eyes almost perfectly.

Maybe staying here for a while wouldn't be so bad after all.

Shaking themselves out of their thoughts, Luke was now in front of them with the man.

"Okay, so Kaleb, this is Delta! He's new here!" He said excitedly, motioning to Delta.

Kaleb nodded, and stuck his hand out, "Well, it's nice to meet you. Welcome." He said, giving a small smile.

Delta nodded, giving a smile back as he shook Kaleb's hand, but was distracted by Luke's words. He had noticed.

He wasn't excited to introduce Kaleb to Delta.

He was excited to introduce Delta to Kaleb.

Delta was barely paying attention to what Kaleb was asking as he thought about this. But, shaking out of their thoughts once again, Delta came back to the conversation and tried to focus.

"... sorry, what was that? You went a little fast," they smiled awkwardly, unsure if that lie was believable, but didn't really care at that point. He tried to avoid Luke's gaze, knowing he'd get distracted again.

Kaleb nodded, "Oh, that's alright. I was asking when you got here?"

"Oh, yesterday," they responded.

Kaleb nodded, "I figured. Plan on staying long?"

Delta thought for a moment, then shrugged, "I'm not sure. At least 'til I can get back to my own place. I got kinda lost, and... went too far out." He tried to explain.

Kaleb chuckled softly at that, "Yeah, I get it. Happened all the time to me when I first moved here," he said sympathetically.

After a few more minutes of brief talking, Kaleb said goodbye to them, and Luke and Delta moved on.

They continued to talk quietly as they went upstairs so Luke could show them the rest of the house.

Getting to the second floor, Luke explained, "There's not much up here other than rooms and the playroom, but you've already seen that. There are storage closets, of course, but I doubt you'd be interested in that." He giggled.

Drlta chuckled, nodding along, "Yeah, you'd be right about that," he agreed.

Luke nodded, smiling, "Yeah, thought so. There's not much else to see up here, but if you'd like, I can show you where some rooms are!" He offered.

Delta wasn't quite sure what he meant by that, but agreed anyways, figuring he'd find out soon enough.

Luke rocked slightly on his heels, and started to point out different rooms to him as they walked around the floor. He pointed out Ms. Kelley, Karma, Kaleb, Hypno, Tian, and his own room.

Arriving at his own room, Luke turned to him and offered, "You wanna come in?"

Delta was surprised by the offer, but agreed, and went in.

Upon entering Luke's room, Delta was almost blinded by the bright walls. They were a honey yellow color with white trimmings. He had fairy lights around the room, and a large bulletin board on the wall, hanging above the side of his bed on the left wall.

His bedsheets were a floral pattern, and yellow, of course. The floor was the same as the rest of the house, but had a large white circular rug that was pinned down by the bed and desk.

Speaking of desks, it was facing the window, that was uncovered by the white curtains. The small desk was light mahogany, and the chair was a white spinny chair. On the desk was a jewelry holder, stack of books, stationary holder, and a few other small storage things. It was next to the bed.

On the right wall, he had a large bookcase full of books and journals. They filled every crevice of the bookshelf, bursting at the seams.

On the rest of the walls, they were covered in posters, CD's, and records. The record covers were mounted on the wall, with the actual records sticking out of them slightly. The CD's were also mounted on the wall, and were painted in various patterns and colors.

On his bedside table, he had an actual record player and a storage container for them. He also had a few small bottles on it, seemingly pill bottles.

Luke walked over, plopping down on his bed. He gave Delta a grin, "Come on in! Make yourself comfortable. You can sit wherever." He said sweetly.

The room's cozy and warm atmosphere made Delta feel comfortable to take him up on that offer.

Going over to the rug, Delta sat down on the floor across from Luke.

After a moment of awkward silence, Delta spoke up softly, "I like your room. It's... warm." He tried to think of how to describe it. But the best descriptor he felt was right was 'warm'.

Luke beamed, "Thank you!! I'm glad you like it! It's my favorite color, as you can probably tell," he chuckled.

Delta nodded, and the two continued to talk for a bit as they relaxed in Luke's room.
