After Luke dropped the teens off at their work, he drove the kids and whoever didn't have shifts today to the park.
He laughed as all the kids cheered and whooped when they saw their favorite park in sight, jumping up from their seats in excitement despite the teens trying to get them to sit back down.
Luke stopped the bus, parking a few blocks down, knowing if they parked the bus at the actual park, they'd probably get a massive fine. However, Luke didn't let the kids off the bus just yet.
"Alright, alright, hold it!" He called out over the excited kids jumping and yelling. "Hold on!"
The kids got quiet upon his command, anxiously bouncing on their feet, waiting desperately to be let out.
"Now, before we go, yall remember the buddy system. There's 15 of us, and there's 18 of you. Some of you will be paired up in twos. If you have a sibling, you stay with them and one other friend. Does that make sense?" He projected so everyone could hear.
The kids all excitedly nodded, quickly agreeing, knowing they would need to quickly go to their siblings or buddy once they got outside so they could go to the park.
Luke chuckled softly, "Alright then, let's go!" He opened out the doors.
The kids cheered loudly and all rushed out, the teens quickly following behind to make sure no one tried to dash off.
Luke was the last out of the bus, parking as the teens quickly held onto their siblings, making sure the runners didn't try taking off like they usually did. But whoever did run got stopped quickly and put on a safety harness.
Once everyone, including Luke, was ready, Karma led them all to the park. It was a short walk, only 10 minutes away, so it would help get the kids' energy out a bit.
They walked peacefully, anyone who wasn't with a child staying in the back to protect the group from anyone coming up behind. Karma walked in front, leading the group.
Kevin, one of the older kids, suddenly rushed to the front. "Karma? Hey, Karma?"
Karma didn't turn to him, but ushered him to his side, "Hey, what's up?"
"We got trouble on left. Saw a toxic, could be blue from 30 but I ain't sure." Kevin quietly informed, using the code words Karma had taught him. 'Toxic' typically referred to a rival gang, whilst 'blue' referred specifically to Nyx. And 30 was the number of potential people from the rival gang.
Karma sighed, but nodded, "Okay. Thank you for the information, Kevin. Fall back until told otherwise."
Kevin nodded, obeying and going back to his sister. She questioned why he had gone up there, but he ignored her.
Soon enough, they got to the park, and let the kids run wild. Karma sat on the bench with a few other teens, watching as the kids ran around and dragged their siblings or friends around with them. The teens who weren't immediately dragged off walked around or sat on the benches, talking.
Unfortunately, this fun was short lived. Kevin suddenly ran over again, "Karma! Here!"
Karma quickly shot to his feet, looking around to figure out where the fight was coming from. He saw a gang nearby across from the park, coming towards them, seeming to point them out to the leader.
"Shit... Alright. Kev, warn the others, make sure the kids don't see or get involved. I'll deal. Got that?" He ordered strictly. Kevin nodded, and ran off to tell the others.
Karma called over Spot and Hypno, having the two follow behind as he went to confront the gang in the street.
"What do you want?" He growled out, crossing his arms.
The leader of the other gang smiled fakely. There were about 15 of them. "What, we can't just say hello?" He mocked.
Unfortunately, Karma wasn't in the mood for their shit. "Listen, I'm not playing games today. We got kids out there. So, do NOT fuck with us while kids are around. Got that?" He snarled, twitching slightly.
"Shut the fuck up." The leader's fake smile dropped, a cruel frown taking its place. "You know what we're here for, and it's not your damn family. You owe us."
Karma held himself back from punching them here and now, but knew that would start a fight, and he didn't feel like fighting just yet. "No, I don't. We paid our debt to you."
"No you fucking didn't. Pay us back or we will go for your family this time."
"Is that a threat?"
"Are you going to make it one?"
"How many times am I going to have to tell you to fuck off and not start shit when kids are around?! This is a public fucking park! Leave us alone!" Karma lashed out, motioning to the park behind him angrily.
The leader laughed. "Or what? What are you gonna do to make us?"
"Well, fuck around and find out, bitchboy." Karma answered smartly.
"Asshole." They growled out.
"Coward." He shot back in an even voice.
The leader's eyes went wide, immediately lunging at Karma, attempting to choke him. Karma quickly turned ghost, making the enemy phase through and hit the ground. A large gang fight started.
Karma spared no time, not bothering to wait for the other leader to get up before kicking him in the sides again.
However, he got thrown to the side quickly. Karma swiftly flicked out his switchblade, cutting one of their faces.
The other got closer and twisted Karma's arm, quickly throwing him onto the ground. Karma reacted quickly, nailing a crotch shot and then tackling him to beat him down.
Spot yelled for backup, knowing they were outnumbered. He swiftly slammed his fist into another enemy's face, swiveling around and grabbing another by the shirt and headbutting them as hard as he could.
Hypno swiftly used his magic, knocking several out as backup ran over. However, he got tackled, the enemy starting to slam their fist into his head, seemingly trying to knock him out.
Hypno teleported himself out, swiftly tackling the person down and pummeling them with no mercy. He slammed his fist violently into their faces, watching as blood pooled out from their nose and mouth, listening to the enemy screaming and yelling at him as they tried to fight back.
Someone dragged Spot away suddenly, a group of 3 all ganging up on him. Spot did his best to fight them off, swiftly stabbing one in the shoulder and cutting the other two, switching between his blade and his fists.
However, one of them punched Spot as hard as he could in the jaw, causing a tooth to get knocked loose as a scream spilled out with the blood. He got knocked over and the three wasted no time beating on him.
Upon seeing her friend getting hurt, C sprinted over, grabbing one by the arm and throwing them down, breaking their arm violently, causing a scream again.
When she turned back around, the other two got their attention off of Spot, giving him time to get up to help her. C acted quickly and jabbed her fingers in one of their eyes to momentarily blind them while Spot and the other one brawled viciously.
Meanwhile, Luke and anyone who was left that had siblings frantically rushed the kids onto the bus to get them to safety. He made sure everyone stayed safe and none of the super young kids saw any of what wad going on.
"Marco, come here!" He called quickly. When she ran over, he handed her the keys to the bus, "Take the keys, lock the doors and start it so y'all can have air conditioning. Do not drive off. Wait for us, make sure the kids don't see it. Got it?"
She nodded, snatching the keys and running off to get the rest of the kids into the bus safely. Luke called for anyone who wanted to help to come over.
Karma did a swift uppercut to one of the goons, knocking him out swiftly as he avoided and dodged hard blows and stabs.
However, they all heard Luke and their small army coming over to finish and win the fight.
Karma smirked sadistically.
"Well, looks like backup has finally arrived~" he taunted at the other enemy, then knocked his lights out quickly.
