Delta opened his eyes slowly, immediately overwhelmed by the sudden bright light and colors.
He closed his eyes.
After a few minutes of straining, they pushed themselves to open his eyes again, slower this time.
When they did, they took their time, and took in the bright lights. They noticed it's strange light blue color, with white patches in the sky. He felt little pain, assuming he got out of the fall safely.
He assumed wrong.
Foolishly, he decided to try to sit up. He gently leaned their body to one side, putting their little weight on their forearm, and tried to push up.
"Ugh, that hurts like a bitch!" Delta managed to hiss out, immediately giving up from the pain. He took a better look at his arm and noticed faint blood from inside his sweater.
He looked at it in confusion, but felt something in their head. He rolled back down and put his hand there to feel it.
Through their blurred vision, he saw the blood. He was beginning to notice the intense pain in their head as something came over them.
He recognized what it was and rolled over quickly on their side, and threw up. He was immediately dizzy, but managed to stay upright enough to make sure it would only go on the ground.
When it was over, he sighed, and wiped his mouth. He began to examine the rest of himself.
He rolled up the sleeve of the arm that was bleeding, and saw that it was fractured. They didn't have whole a lot of medical knowledge, but knew enough to be able to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it until they could get back to a doctor again.
He managed to crawl over to a tree and grabbed some sticks, pulling himself up slowly to sit upright. He arranged them on their arm, then took off the glove of the arm they were fixing and used it to hold the sticks in place.
He winced as the pressure got tighter, holding his breath to control himself as he wrapped it up. When they finished, they let themselves breathe again, relaxing slightly.
Delta took a deep breath, then checked over the rest of his body, checking his stats as well. He noticed he was incredibly low on health and had taken a significant amount of damage, along with finding that he probably had a concussion.
He let himself take a minute, feeling exhausted but not allowing themselves to sleep yet. They glanced around, the ground becoming blurred and dizzy. He rested their eyes and didn't look up again until the feeling had passed.
Once they were feeling a bit better, he opened his eyes again. To their surprise, the forest was a fresh color, the golden sunlight gazing down from the trees as the sky was lit with blue, purple, and a strange carnation color. The white patches of sky he had seen before were now multicolored shades of the main three, the sun casting its glow on them. It took them a moment to remember what they were, since it had been so long since they've seen the sky, but they realized they were the clouds. It was sunset.
He took a long breath, looking up to the sky, taking in the colors. He hadn't seen the sky in so long, much less a sunset.
He felt for his phone to take a picture, but felt it wasn't in his pocket. Reluctantly, he turned away and looked around for it. They saw that it wasn't far off from his landing. He used their magic to bring it to them, checking for damage.
