Chapter 11

I had just gotten out of the shower. I had a towel wrapped around my body and my hair was draped over my shoulder, dripping wet.

I stepped out of the bathroom, heading for my room to change. It was odd. I usually change in the bathroom because I did not ever want to be so exposed in that room ever again. However, I did not think much of it and the thought soon left my mind altogether.

I had just entered my room and was stepping towards my drawer when a hand fell on my shoulder from behind me and spun me around. I gasped, terror electrocuting every part of my body.

"Jeremy," I breathed out and violent shakes took over me.

He smirked and his eyes lit up. "I missed you." He said.

I was shoved until my back hit the wall hard and Jeremy's body was pressed against mine. He took hold of my chin roughly and forced me to look up at him. "You're so beautiful," He whispered, running his fingers through my wet hair.

"P-please," I begged.

"Stop stuttering!" he shouted, his eyes blazing with anger. He took a fistful of my towel and ripped it away, exposing me to him.

I cried out and tried to cover myself, but he grabbed hold of both my wrists and held them so that I couldn't move. He pressed up closer against me and I felt his excitement.

I tried to scream; I tried to beg for help. But I opened my mouth and nothing came out. My voice was gone.

Jeremy started to kiss me and I closed my eyes, waiting for him to ruin me a second time.

. . .

I sat up in my makeshift bed, clutching my chest and breathing hard with sweat soaking my clothes and covers.

Dream. It had all been a dream... a nightmare was a more accurate term.

I began to sob both in relief that none of it had been real and in agony that it could very well have been.

After letting the tears escape for twenty minutes, I stood up, knowing I was not going to get back to sleep anytime soon. A distraction. I needed a distraction.

I grabbed my shoes and coat and quietly slipped out of my room, down the stairs, and out the front door in the cool night air. I needed a walk to clear my head.

It was about 1:30 in the morning. My dad had arrived home about twenty minutes ago, but he was already half asleep. He would never know I was gone.

It was a long time before I realized I was past the school and walking towards Hunter's house. I stopped and thought, what the hell am I doing? I couldn't go to Hunter. I had always dealt with this alone since it happened. I didn't need him or anyone else. If I did, Jeremy would win and I couldn't let that happen.

But no one knew the truth before, the voice in the back of my head spoke up and I cursed it. This is ridiculous. It was nearly two in the morning by now. Hunter would be asleep along with every other sane person in the area.

I turned around and walked back. Five minutes later, I turned yet again and in the same direction as Hunter's house. This routine continued for another half hour, me taking two steps back home and four steps towards the opposite direction until I eventually found myself at the edge of Hunter's front yard.

I need him, I realized and that last thought propelled me forward and to the side of his house that I thought his room to be on if I remembered correctly.
