"Ah, man..." Rei said, sweatdropping.

"I sure am lucky! I give the extra critical to Avia, recover one damage and give a total of 10000 power to Whirlwind Rush Dragon!" (Power: 10000>>>20000)
"I'll check for damage triggers."

"Finally, something useful. I recover one damage."

"Huh, you actually dealt Rei three damage in a turn. I'm genuinely impressed. Nice job, Roka." Yudai complemented to which Roka blushed and giggled nervously.

"Thanks, Yudai. Rei, it's your turn now, so gimme your best."

"Oh, don't worry. I plan to."

"You haven't seen anything yet. 'Cause I'm LIBERATING THE GENERATION ZONE!" Rei declared as he dropped a card from his hand. "Everlasting flames, burn away the troubles of the past and create a new future that we can all look forward to! GENERATION STRIDE! Absolution Lion King, Mithril Ezel!"(Grade 4, 15000+) (Power-15000>>>26000)
"Incredible..." Yudai said silently as he gazed upon the unit.

"Ezel's Stride Skill. I Counterblast 1, look at the top four cards of my deck, and I replace Nero for Advanced Trooper. And since I have four or more rear-guards, I can unflip a damage and Soulcharge 1. Now here's the fun part. I activate Mithril Ezel's skill. If I have a heart with 'Ezel' in its name, I Counterblast one and look at the top five cards of my deck. Then I choose one of those cards to call to the rear. So, I'll swap out my Sagramore on the Rear and call different one from the deck. What's so special about that, you might ask? Well, when the unit called by Mithril Ezel's enters the field, that unit and Ezel get power equal to the power of the called unit! So, Ezel and Sagramore's powers both increase by 9000!"

"This fight just got even more real!" Roka and Yudai, again, said at the same time.

"I'm gonna start the battle phase! Scorch boosts Chantelle and she attacks Whirlwind Rush Dragon!" (Power: 16000)
"Sorry Whirlwind, it can't be helped."
"Now Ezel attacks with support from Advanced Trooper!"(Power-42000)
"There's no way I can guard that... "Triple Drive!"

"3 critical!? Oh man...I'll check the damage."

[Damage Check] - Sky Scout, Vayu - (Draw Trigger)

[Damage Check] - Altitude Beast, Aerial Pegasus

"And Rei wins by trigger spam. Congrats on being lucky." Yudai said sarcastically.
"Hey, I still won! You don't need to be a jerk about it!"
"Your job was to help her practice, not to show off fancy new cards and show how many criticals you can stack. I think me being a jerk is well deserved in the situation..."
"I didn't even get a chance to Stride. This sucks." Roka said, feeling a little disheartened.
"Hey, don't worry about it. One more turn and you probably would've beaten me. I'm just lucky my offensive playstyle actually worked!"
"Maybe, but I'm not letting you one-up me like that. Rei, I challenge you to a rematch!"

"I accept!"
"I'm still here, you kn..." Yudai started but was cut off by them resetting the game.

"Stand up, Vanguard!"

In the end, Rei and Roka end up playing seven more times, with Rei at 6 wins and Ross at 2. They were both panting heavily, due to the exhaustion that apparently comes with playing card games.

"I think that's enough for today." Rei chimed.
"Yeah, we better go home. You coming, Yudai?" Asked Roka but she got no reply. She turned to see that Yudai was not where they last saw him. She scanned the shop also, but she couldn't find him. "Where'd he go?" She asked herself puzzled by his disappearance. She turned around to see Misaki standing in front of her. She gave Roka and Rei a note and she walked back to the counter, leaving behind a confused Rei and Roka.
"So, what's it say?" Rei asked
"I'll check... ah, it says ' If you're reading this it means that I've gone home and you two idiots didn't notice. Rei, please escort Roka back to my house to avoid her being jumped again. Though I doubt your scrawny body is much in the way of thug defence.- Yudai'."
"Well then let's go. I hope he isn't mad."

Meanwhile, In a different location
In an alleyway downtown, a portal opened up out of nowhere, and out of it came a teenage boy. "Man, when am I this time?" he said to himself. He stepped out of the alleyway and looked around, trying to find clues about this time period and in doing so he managed to see a lot of familiar buildings.
"Well , it's definitely the future, but it's nice to see you didn't land me some time like a hundred years into it, Clockwork." He took a card out of his deck case and stared at it in mild surprise.
"Woah, Transcendent of Time, Deus Clockwork. Looks like travelling to this time gave you an upgrade, buddy."

The boy noticed a boy his age walking down the street, and it was none other than Yudai.
"No way. He looks exactly like that guy I saw in my dream. Is that why Clockwork warped me here? To meet him?" He said to himself
"It's true, Master Kiniro." A voice said to him, a voice he was all too familiar with. Clockwork was speaking to him.
"From here on, your destiny is linked with that boy's destiny. You, him and that last figure you say in your dream must fight as one to save both Cray and Earth."
