Chapter 27: Rei's Angel

Yudai's eye was twitching as he saw the scene in front of him. The gang, which include Kiniro, Rei, Izo, Kenji, and Roka, were in Roka's hotel room, sitting on the bed's in the middle of a conversation, just a little while after Roka's surprise roommate. Her name was Chiho Hira. She had long,cherry blossom red hair tied into a high ponytail by a yellow bow with two parts falling down each of her shoulders and crimson coloured eyes. And according to Yudai's necklace, she was a clan guardian. As if that wasn't surprising enough, she was currently clinging onto Rei's arm with hers and smiling blissfully. Apparently, she was head over heels in love with him. Huh, Rei with a girlfriend. Nobody expected that when they got out of bed that morning.

*Earlier that morning*

The alarm clock on one of the boy's phone resonated throughout the boy's room. Yudai who was still three-quarters asleep tried to turn it off while still trying to maintain his sleeping posture. Having no luck and the alarm's sound getting increasingly annoying, Yudai grabbed the phone and threw it across the room, silencing the alarm, but ultimately destroying the phone. Realising what he'd done, Yudai shot out of bed. The sound of the impact woke the others too. Still, Yudai decided to play it cool.

"Aw man, someone owes me a new phone." Kiniro rubbed his eyes and looked at the broken phone.

"But isn't that my phone?"

"Oh....Uhh...Guys, someone owes Kin a new phone!" Before anyone could say anything else, there was a knock on the window. Izo walked over to the window and drew the curtains. They saw Kenji, greeting them with a smile. Izo opened the window to let them into the hotel room.

"Hey there. Thanks for letting me in." Said Kenji, taking a seat on Rei's bed.

"Hi to you too, Kenji, but may I ask how you got up here. We're on the third floor." Stated Yudai. Kenji just shrugged.

"Let's just say climbing become one of my specialties over the years." He said.

"Alright then. Sketchy as that sounds, let's move onto what you're doing here, esper boy." Said Izo.

"Nothing. I've just decided to hang around you guys for a while. I can tell things are going to get interesting." He said with a smirk. Izo sighed and walked into the bathroom, getting ready for the day ahead of them. One by one, the boys did their morning cleanliness activities until when Yudai was in the middle of dressing his phone gave him an alert. It was a text from Roka. He opened the text and read it.

Yudai, get the others and meet me in my room ASAP. There's someone I need you guys to meet. See you then.

"Hmm....Interesting." Yudai finished dressing by putting on his red jacket. He explained the text to the others and the four boys headed for Roka's room. After she invited them in, Yudai's necklace began to glow, indicating that there was a Clan Guardian nearby.

"Just as I thought," Yudai said in his head.

"Yu, what's up with necklace?" Asked Rei.

"Rei,we've been through this. My name's only five letters long. I'm pretty sure there's no need to shorten it anymore. As for my necklace...." Yudai explained the meeting he had with Harmonics Messiah including the necklace and the cards that kept track of all Clan Guardian Seals that had been retrieved. He also had to explain who the new boy with them was and how they met him. Roka greeted the new addition to the list of Clan Guardians with a warm welcome. But due to Kenji's long silver hair and soft facial features, she mistook him for a fellow girl. He didn't take so well, but he said it wasn't uncommon.
