The previous day, they had received a letter from the Chaos Corporation (a company that Kaiko was the CEO of, in addition to being the Curator of the United Sanctuary Branch), the company that was funding the tournament, that a private limousine would come around to Tokyo Tower to pick them up, and drive them to the port, where a boat would take them to an island off the coast of Japan, where the tournament would be held. So Yudai, Kiniro, and Roka, along with Rei and Kiseki made their way towards Tokyo Tower. They had spent the last few days polishing their decks and working on different strategies, and they were in the best shape they'd ever been in as fighters. Although, Yudai was having trouble adjusting to his new power...

Boosted by Helios, Selene attacks your Vanguard! Her Quasar activates! This ability can only be activated if I have sent two or more cards to the bind zone during the turn! It gives her another 3000 and a skill! And you already know my vanguard, Altair's Quasar gives all my rear-guards 3000 power!" (35000) Boosted by her little brother, the moon warrioress attacked Avia, shooting two arrows from her crossbow.

"Sorry, Yudai, but I'm Liberating the Generation Zone! The white wings of the heavens envelop me! Generation Guard! Primordial Storm Sage, Raiza! Her skill! When she's placed on the Guardian Circle, with a Counterblast, I can return up one unit from your field to your hand! In exchange, you to take a card from your hand, and call it to the field. Say goodbye to Selene, Yudai!" A regal-looking angelic figure raised her staff, summoning up a violent storm, that blew Yudai's card right out of the battlefield.

"For Artemis' sake, how careless can you be?" Selene asked Yudai. Yudai exhaled loudly, obviously exasperated.

"It wasn't my fault! Those are new cards she's using!" he retaliated. Roka tilted her head in a quizzical manner.

"Yudai? Who are you talking to?" she asked.

"Umm....no one. I call Red Variable Star, Betelgeuse." (9000>>>12000) Betelgeuse appeared on the field, raring to go. "Let's do this!" he exclaimed, clutching his red blade.

"Altitude Beast, Cumulus Sheep's Turbulence! When one of my opponent's cards leaves the field, it becomes turbulent! I draw a card, shuffle her into my deck, and then I Counter Charge! Also, Avian Tamer, Marcaw's Turbulence! 2000 power is added!" (8000>>>10000)

"Boosted by Bellatrix, Interplanetary Paladin, Altair takes a swing at Avia." (44000)

"Hey, Yudai. I'm gonna come up next. Just letting you know!" A voice came from his deck. Yudai recognised it. It was the voice of the hero-in-training, Meteor Knight, Rigel...one of his critical triggers. His cards...very helping him win...by telling him what card was next in the deck.

"Please stop..." Yudai pleaded. These cards were ruining his life. They talked when he ate, when he slept, when he showered...and now they were talking when he was cardfighting. This was borderline torture...

"Don't forget about me!" cooed Globe Nymph, Callisto, his stand trigger.

"This isn't happening..."

"Rarghhh!" growled Orbital Sphere Dracokid, his other critical trigger.

"AGGGGHHHHHH! SOMEBODY GET THESE GOD FORSAKEN VOICES OUT OF MY HEAD!" Yudai packed up his cards as fast as he could and ran out, clutching his head.

"I wonder what that was all about. Maybe the stress of being a hero is getting to him again..." Kiniro pondered, scratching the back of his head. Then, Clockwork's silhouette appeared beside him.

"It's likely he found a way to speak to his cards directly, but he must not have a lot of control over it yet. It's either that or our Defender of Space has finally, as you humans say, 'hit rock bottom'." The time lord explained.
