Chapter 10: New Fighters on Campus

It was a Monday morning: the beginning of a new school week. Yudai had filled out the necessary applications to enrol Roka in the same school he and Rei went to and the day before he and Roka went to buy her school uniform, books and supplies. And the same day he had that crazy dream.
"It's weird. Studies say that you forget 90% of a dream when you wake up, but that entire dream is practically stuck deep inside my memory files." He muttered to himself as he took his seat and planted the side of his head onto the desk.
"Furthermore, everyone you see in a dream should someone be you've met before in the past." The image of the gold haired boy flashed into his head.
"But I can swear on my own life that I've never seen that guy before, so he was that guy next to me and Roka?"
"Got something on your mind, bud?" Yudai lifted his head from desk to see his friend, Rei.
"Oh, hey man. No I'm fine, just a dumb dream."
"Whatever you say. Hey, you going to Card Capital? I can't today apparently. Family stuff, you know?
"I see. Well I was planning to go with Roka."
Just as Rei was about to say something else, the teacher walked into the classroom.
"Okay, settle down, class. We have two new students today, so I'm sure you'll do your best to make them feel welcome.
Naturally, Roka walked into the classroom. She wrote her name on the board and began her introduction. Yudai noticed the change in facial expression in nearly all the males in the classroom when the saw her and the all started to faun over Roka, the exceptions being himself, Rei and the teacher. Some of the girls looked at her spitefully, most likely because she was undeniably pretty.
"Hello, I'm Roka Mizukami. I'm going to be studying with all of you from now on, so I hope we can be friends." She said, mainly out of compulsion as she didn't want to make friends with just anybody. She scanned the room and her eyes landed on Yudai, who gave her a thumbs up.
"Thank you Ms. Mizukami. You may take the empty seat behind Mr. Matsuro." He said pointing to Yudai. She walked to the seat behind Yudai and they smiled at each other, causing him to receive the evil eye from all of her admirers and Yudai's admirers.
"You may also come and introduce yourself, young man."
Yudai and Roka turned around to see the next new pupil, and both of their faces filled with shock when the saw him. The boy imitated Roka's actions and all the girls did what the boys did during Roka introduction and vice-versa.
"Hi, I'm Kiniro Inazuma, but my friends call me Kin. It's nice to meet you all. I also play Cardfight!! Vanguard, so if anyone else plays I'd happy to play you."
"Thank you, Mr. Inazuma. Please sit next to Ms. Asuda."
Kiniro nodded and did as he was told. His eyes fell to Yudai and they made eye contact and even though it was only for a second, you could swear it lasted an eternity. Yudai was straight up confused. He saw this guy in a dream, so what was he doing here? He was doing his best not to freak out.
"It's him!" He said in his head. He felt Roka's hand on his shoulder and she gave him a worried look. He started to calm down. He exhaled deeply, nodded to her reassuringly, and the two turned to face their respective desks and resumed their lesson.

A few hours later, it was lunchtime, so naturally all the students were free to do as they wished. Yudai saw this as a good time to question Kiniro. He got up and walked towards Kiniro's desk, only for a bunch of girls suddenly crowd him before he could reach him.
"So, when did you move here? Are you new to town?"
"Would you like me to show you around the school, Kiniro?"
"You are so cute! Do you have a girlfriend?"
Yudai soon noticed that he was losing valuable time. Just when he was about to actually ask Kiniro about his dream, he was interrupted by a boy in his class, Kenta Hayama, stormed up to him. He slammed his hands on Kiniro's desk, causing Kiniro to flinch.
"Listen you, I've had just about enough!" He said to him. Yudai started to worry that things might get out of hand.
"You just got here and you already have tonnes of girls at your feet! I'm already competing with Yudai and Rei, but I can't deal with you too! I just won't accept it!"
Yudai and Kiniro sweatdropped.
"This is what he's upset about!?" They both exclaimed inwardly.
"I challenge you to a cardfight! You said you play, right? The winner gets all the hot girls!" He declared passionately.
"I'm not sure what's going on, but I'd be happy to fight you. Let's do it in the school's courtyard." Kiniro replied becoming slightly uncomfortable because of Kenta.
Both fighters rushed out before Yudai could talk to Kiniro. Seconds later, Rei and Roka walked into the room, confused on why two students ran out of the classroom.
"What was that all about?" Rei asked Yudai.
"Kenta's jealous of Kiniro's immediate harem and decided to fight him for the rights to it." He explained.
"They're going to fight?!" Roka asked, worried.
"Chill, it's just a cardfight. Besides, any violence and they'd both be thrown out of here."
"Anyway Yudai, can I talk to you in private?" Roka asked.
"Sure, let's go to the roof. Later, Rei." They fist-bumped and Yudai and Roka then left the classroom.

Yudai leaned against the railing on the school roof, with Roka beside him.
"So, what's up?"
"Well, you know how when Kiniro walked into the room, I started acting all weird?"
"Yeah, me too. What about it?"
"This is gonna sound crazy, but was in a dream I had last night and you were in it too." She said. Yudai couldn't believe what he just heard. This was to weird to be a coincidence.
"The dream you had, what was it about?" He asked. Roka explained the dream and to Yudai's shock if was the same as the second half of his. He was starting to lose his cool. Nevertheless, he placed a hand on her shoulder in comfort.
"Don't worry, everything's gonna be fine. There's no point in troubling ourselves with dreams right?"
She smiled and nodded agreement, but their moment was interrupted by cheering from down below. The two looked over the metallic railing to see Kiniro and Kenta boys cardfighting and a crowd of cheering spectators watching.
"Let's go check that out." Yudai said. Roka agreed and they ran from the roof to the scene.

"Look like it's my turn. Stand and draw. Manipulate the hands of time and create a future with limitless possibilities! Ride, my avatar, Transcendant of Time, Deus Clockwork!" (Grade 3, 11000)
"Ready for the attacks? Star-Jet attacks your Amon!" (Power: 11000)
"Flirtatious Succubus will intercept!" (Shield: 15000)
"With a boost from Era, Clockwork's coming at ya!" (Power: 16000)
"It's nulified with Vlad Spacula!" (Shield: Cannot be Hit)
"Hey, no fair! Twin Drive!"

"And it looks like someone going triple critical! All effects go Present Time Observer, Chrome!" (Power: 10000>>>20000) (Critical: 1>>>3)
"Oh darn it..."
"Boost by Chrona, Chrome attacks Amon!"
"I don't guard..."

"You win, I guess..." Kenta said woefully.
"Don't worry about it! That's was a sweet fight! Let's do it again sometime!" Kiniro said. Kenta's spirits were lifted by Kiniro kind words.
"Okay, but I'll win next time. I guess I see ya. Cool deck, by the way!" He said as he ran off.

Yudai, Rei and Roka were present for the last turn of the fight, and they were all stunned.
"Another one-of-a-kind clan? And he has it? This has to mean something..." Yudai's train off thought was interrupted by Kiniro attempting to to talk to him.
"Hey, you're Yudai, right? You said a you wanted to talk to me?"
Just as Yudai was about to speak, something strange happened. The decks belonging to Yudai,Kiniro and Roka began to glow in their respective colours.
"What's going onnnnnn!" Yudai said, and the three of them and Rei vanished.
