late night drives

I stared at my ceiling having been laying there for an hour already not able to fall asleep. My mind has been racing about work and danielle and whatever else I need to get done in the next couple days. I decided to text her to see if she was still awake.

Me:
Hey bella! Are you still awake?

I place my phone back on my nightstand and within a couple of minutes I hear it ding again.

My bambina ❤️:
Yeah, I can't sleep.

Me:
Me either bella, do you want to drive around town with me for a bit?

My bambina ❤️:
That sounds wonderful! We can go get some food too!

Me:
Ok, I'll get ready and i'll be at your house in 20 minutes!

My bambina ❤️:
Perfect, I'll be ready! See you soon! 😘

I get changed quickly and then put my hair into a messy bun. I walk downstairs and grab my car keys before walking out the door and locking it behind me. I unlock my car and get in before turning it on and driving off towards danielle's house.

I roll out of bed before walking to the bathroom. I quickly brush out my hair and braid it. I pull a sweatshirt over my head and switch my pj shorts for some sweat shorts in my drawer. I get socks and some ugg slippers before walking downstairs. By the time I'm down there, I see stefanias headlights in my driveway.

She gets out of her car and walks up to my door, but I open it before she can ring the bell. She smiles and asks how I am doing before walking back out to her car with me. She unlocks the door and opens it for me, then walks around the front to the drivers side.

"Hi bambina!" she says as she leans over and kisses me on the cheek. We have known each other for awhile now but started dating about two months ago. "Where do you want to go bella?" she asked as she started to back out of my driveway. "Do you want to go to mcdonald's?" I ask. "That sounds wonderful right now" stef replies.

We turn on some music while talking about anything and everything. "How was your day love?" I ask stef as she changes lanes. "It was good, I took Jeff to the vet this morning and I had a couple scenes to film at greys, but nothing much. You?" she replies. "I had to film at station most of today but i'm glad it's the weekend" I responded.

We pull up at mcdonald's and we both get milkshakes and fries. I pay after some pushback from her before we get our order. We decided to drive to the lookout close to the LAX airport and watch the planes take off for a bit.

Once we make it to the lookout I park the car and we both get out to go sit on the table by the fence. We look out and see a large plane taking off on the runway near us.

"I love flying and traveling and the airport, it's all just so calming and feels so peaceful" I say. "I almost always go to Italy every summer which means I get to see my mama and most of the time Rio too" I add. "That's so sweet, I liked it too but my mom always used to get stressed and she passed that onto me" I laugh.

"Well maybe I can take you on a stress free trip and show you all of my favorite places it italy" I say as I pull danielle's body into mine. "That sounds amazing" she replied. She rests her head on my shoulder and I wrap my arm around her body, pulling her closer. We sit in a comfortable silence for a little while as we watch a couple planes go off into the distance and another land.

We sat together just sharing parts of ourselves that we hadn't before while watching all the planes taking off.

I shivered a bit before danielle sat up and took off her sweatshirt. "Here baby, put this on, you're cold" she said before helping me put on the sweater that smelled like her. "Thank you princepessa" I smiled. "Wait, what does that one mean?" she asked. "Princess, bella" I laughed before pressing a kiss to her lips.

"Do you want to come back to my house to sleep since it's already so late?" I ask as we both get up from the table and walk back from the car. "Are you sure?" she asked. "Of course bambina, don't worry about it" I smile before we get in the car and drive back to my house.

We pull into stefanias driveway and walk inside. This is the first time i've slept at her house and i'm so excited but also nervous, like anything could go wrong.

We go upstairs before she gives me a sweatshirt of hers to change into and we get in bed.

She lays down before holding out her arm, "come here bella, let me hold you" she said as butterflies erupted in my stomach and I smiled.

I got into bed and placed my head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat. She felt so special to me in another way that any of my other partners had. We just had this connection and I felt so safe with her and like I could be open and vulnerable without her judging me.

She pulled me closer, wrapping her arm around me, bringing me back to reality before whispering, "buona notte bambina".

She placed a kiss on the top of my head before running her fingers through my hair and whispering sweet nothings as I drifted off to sleep.

(also sorry about the names, they are changed but i had written half awhile ago and was also interrupted when writing this so i was all over the place. i hope it's better now but lmk if anything else needs to be fixed!)
