winter days

I woke up to Carina breathing softly on my neck. We finally moved back in together a few months ago and it's almost christmas time. I look out of the window to notice it has started snowing. I gently kiss the top of Carina's head until she starts to stir.

"Mmhm" she groans before rolling over and pulling the comforter over her head. If anyone isn't a morning person, it's definitely Carina. This woman will do anything to sleep an extra 5 minutes.

"I know what we should do today" I said. "What would that be bambina?" carina replied in her raspy morning voice. "We should bake cookies" I confidently said. We both had the couple days off leading to christmas and christmas itself off so we wanted to soak up every minute we had with each other. "That sounds wonderful bella. But stay here with me for a bit longer" she responded while snuggling her face into my neck.

After a couple minutes I got up and of course carina whined a bit until I picked her up bridal style and her whines turned into giggles. I carried her to the kitchen and sat her on the counter. "bambina! oh my gosh!" she shouted as I set her down. I placed kisses all over her face as she tried to move away from my touch.

"Are you ready to make cookies now?" I asked laughing. "Only if we're making sugar cookies" she replied. "Of course my love" I said as I kissed her head and started grabbing the ingredients.

I jumped off the counter to help maya grab everything we needed. I'm not a huge fan of the cold and snow but I know it is her favorite time of the year and I love getting to watch her so happy.

Once we got all the ingredients out I preheated the oven. Maya started to put the flour in the bowl but not before spilling which caused me to laugh. She decided to throw some flour at me in response which caused me to throw some back, and you can see how that went.

After chasing each other around for a couple minutes I caught Carina from behind and we were both in fits of laughter. She turned around in my arms and kissed me passionately, having to break away because of her smile. "I love you so much Maya" she stated before kissing me again. "I love you even more baby" I replied.

"How about we finish our cookies and then we can take a shower?" I asked while looking at us both covered in flour. "If we can cuddle and watch a movie after?" Carina bargained. "Of course my love" I responded before pulling her back to the kitchen by her hand.

We put all the ingredients into the bowl and mixed to create the dough. I stuck my finger in to try it but Carina sucked on my finger before I was able to. She returned the favor by letting me try dough from her finger. She rolled it out while I found our cookie cutters. We both spent time cutting out different shapes like reindeer, stars, santa, and some candy canes. 

We set the tray in the oven before cleaning the kitchen and deciding to take a quick shower. We both knew we couldn't get into any funny business because the cookies were in the oven but some kisses wouldn't hurt anyone right?

I walked upstairs with Maya following close behind. I pulled her into the bathroom and started the shower. I turned around and she had already gotten undressed but she was still covered in flour. "You're so pretty" I said before giggling and watching her blush at the comment. She walked over and pulled off my sweatshirt and put it on the floor. "You're even more pretty baby" she replied as I pulled down my shorts and underwear and left them in a pile before following maya into the shower. "Not possible bambina" I added while kissing her rosy cheek.

We washed each others hair with Carina's favorite vanilla shampoo before washing our bodies and taking our time with each other. None of the wandering hands or eyes going unnoticed. "We can't do anything, we have to get the cookies out before they burn" I said pulling away from maya with a smile. "As you wish dr. deluca" she responded before stepping out of the shower and handing me a towel.

I pulled on one of Maya's sweatshirts and some sweatpants and maya put on one of my t-shirts and some sweatpants. I carefully brushed out my hair and then moved on to Maya's, also braiding hers. We made our way downstairs and took the cookies out of the oven. As they were cooling we decided to get out icing to ice the cookies.

We spent almost a half an hour decorating cookies before deciding to be done and turn on a christmas movie. I chose Home Alone because it is my favorite and I make Carina watch it every year.

We curled up on the couch in our pj's under a few blankets and started the movie. Carina sat behind me and pulled me into her chest. I rested my head on her boobs and she kissed my head. I grabbed the plate of cookies and we both tried one. "I think these are pretty good bella" carina said after taking a bite. "Agreed" I said before grabbing another.

Once we finished the movie we noticed it started snowing outside so we decided to put on our jackets and go outside. Once we made it outside we heard music coming from a party down the street and saw snow falling.

I pulled Maya into me by her waist and she draped her hands around my neck. "Ti amo bambina" I whispered before I kissed her, our lips moving together in sync. "I love you so much Carina. I'm so so glad I get to spend the rest of my life with you" Maya responded and kissed me back.

I placed my head on her shoulder and we waltzed around to the soft music listening to the snow crunch under our feet. My arms clasped around her waist and hers on my shoulders as she pressed kisses to my head every couple of verses.

We danced around in the snow for 10 more minutes, only Maya singing along to the holiday music because she knew more than me. We swayed and swayed, not paying attention to anything or anyone else, just overall just enjoying our time together. We don't always get to spend days like this because we have busy schedules so it's even more special when we get this time.

I picked my head up to look in Maya's eyes and noticed her shivering a bit. "Are you cold bella?" I asked before she nodded and we made our way inside. We had some hot cocoa, per Maya's request, and watched home alone 2 before cuddling up in bed together to go to sleep.

a/n: I'm so so sorry this has taken so long but I just started school and for some reason last spring I decided it would be a wonderful idea to take 4 honors and an AP class so now i'm dealing with those repercussions lol and it was my birthday a couple days ago so i've been busy.
