Pastors are a lot like the police.

Have you ever seen a police uniform. It has so many damn pockets, chalked full of stuff to help them with whatever situation is at hand. They are taught how to handle every situation, with their words or if need be the items in the pocket. And yet they always go for the gun.

Pastors are much alike. Once they've passed on from teaching children and move on to teaching teens. They only seem to know how to do it one way. Have you ever looked up the amount of hoops you have to jump through to become a pastor. There aren't very many, but they are so jam packed with how to handle every situation that might be thrown at them. Much like a police officers pockets, Pastors are given a wealth of knowledge to use. And yet they alway go for the gun.
A pastors gun comes in two shapes. What ABout THEM! You Can't Just Abandon Them! and their personal favorite Are You Scared Yet~. (you know exactly what i'm talking about)
It works for sure. But exactly like the officers gun it isn't, shouldn't, be your main option. There is a time and a place for it, because sometimes the situation requires that extra omph. but not every damn situation. To give you a bit of prospective of how often those particular strategies are needed. I'm 21 years old and you wanna know out of all the situations i have been in, that i have seen and/or heard about. That needed that, i'll give you a hint its the same amount of romantic partners i've had. None! :) and i'll probably go the rest of my life and encounter a total of one situation that maybe might call for it. That is how rare it should be. ah but the situation I was in did call for it. NAh you just got impatient, this life ain't "you need jesus this is my healing bat *imitate swinging a bat* you are now saved. Who's next?" we are always going to be playing the long game. In fact you say it all the time "It Is NEver to Late" And truer words could not be said. Take the criminal who was crucified with jesus, he was quite literally in the process of dieing and he was still saved. so for those of you working to spread his word don't count nothing. Not the number of people and not the number days it took. This isn't a game you don't need to beat Kevin's highscore. And for those of you who aren't yet saved don't think this means you can put it off. For all you know i'm a psychopath who's about to get real trigger happy in a minute here. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift, that is why we call it the present.

To loop on back to where I started. If you build your faith on guilt or fear its gonna come tumbling down. Not maybe, or might, it will. don't build your house on the sandy land. don't build your toonie near the shore. It might be real easy and convenient. But you'll have to build your house once more. And If any of you have ever seen something like maybe a project come tumbling down around you like Jericho's walls. To bring yourself to start again takes allot of effort both physically and emotionally. But if you were to keep trying again using the same foundation its going to keep falling. And it'll take less an less pressure to make it crumble until you give up and throw it away. Faith is the same way. Only it is so much harder to get people to realize the project itself is fine they just need to replace the foundation. Because first off What do you mean my pastor gave me the worst possible foundation for my faith?! and then you have to get through the How do i know your not trying to do the same.

To summarize my long story into an email. If I find one more pastor who only knows how to convert via fear and guilt. I will Heal them. *Pointedly heft bat*
