Ra'mora swallowed thickly as she made eye contact with Ao'nung, for she had just found out he was destined to her. Her head snapped towards Tsireya at the sound of her voice. "Are you okay? You seem out of it." The Metkayina girl's honey-like voice spoke, her face evident of concern.
Ra'mora waved her off, "I'm fine, really. This whole thing is just a bit overwhelming." She wasn't exactly lying, but she also wasn't really telling the truth. She hasn't had a ceremony meant for her in what felt like forever. Her last ceremony was her dream hunt when she became of age, well, not exactly.
Her dream hunt was relatively early, for she had excelled as a warrior at a young age. The usual age would have been when you turn fifteen but Ra'mora was already deemed capable when she was thirteen. Jake wanted her to complete her hunt once she was fifteen like any other Na'vi would but Neytiri insisted that it'd be better for her to get it done early.
"It's really nothing to worry about Reya, don't worry too much." Ra'mora said in a somewhat playful tone to convince her even more.
Her convincing seemingly worked since Tsireya's worry quickly faded away as she listened to Ra'mora. "You're right. Jeez, I really need to stop worrying so much." Tsireya muttered more to herself rather than Ra'mora. "Now we can have fun though!" She beamed at the older girl. Ra'mora grinned widely at her and the two traveled through the crowd to get to the food and drinks.
The closer the two got the stronger the alcohol smell got. There was obviously kava being served. If the scent didn't give that away then the strange behavior from the teenagers did. By the table where the food and drinks were being held was where Lo'ak stood at, helping himself to kava. Lo'ak's head turned once he saw his sister approaching and almost immediately did his entire demeanor light up upon seeing Tsireya beside her.
"Hey Tsireya!" He beamed at her to which the girl shyly smiled at him in return. Ra'mora rolled her eyes, "Oh yeah hey Lo'ak. So glad to see you too." The older girl's voice was thick with sarcasm as she got closer to where Lo'ak was.
He huffed and rolled his eyes too. "Yeah yeah, I saw you earlier today. Did you find out if you have a destined mate? Neteyam seemed pretty ecstatic to find out he didn't have one."
She shook her head, "I guess we both don't have one then." Ra'mora was a relatively good liar, it wasn't a struggle to hide the truth that only she and Tsahik knew. Lo'ak shrugged at her words and offered a cup to her. "Kava?" He grinned widely. A smile almost immediately appeared on her face at the offer, her hand reaching out to take the cup gratefully.
Tsireya eyed the cup in Ra'mora's hand curiously, "What is kava?"
"Alcohol. You've never had it?" Ra'mora asked with no malicious intent. Tsireya shook her head negatively, "I'm not allowed to have any. Ao'nung isn't allowed to either but he drinks it anyways. Only Ayreina is allowed but she doesn't like it much."
Lo'ak nudged Ra'mora's shoulder playfully and mouthed the word "Neteyam" to her. The older girl snorted once it clicked in her head what he meant. The both of them had gotten relatively close to each other and neither of them liked kava that much. How ironic. Tsireya looked at them with a bit more confusion now but didn't say anything.
Ra'mora brings the wooden cup up to her mouth again, taking a sip. "You two have fun, if you guys need me I'll most likely be with Teyam." She announces before parting ways from them and into the crowd.
She figured that if she was going to tell anyone about her destined soulmate it may as well be her twin. He probably already knew she had one, but he didn't know who exactly. As she made her way through the crowd she accidentally bumped into a chest. A very teal chest. "Shit- sorry about that I wasn't paying..." She trailed off as her eyes met his.
