𝟬𝟭𝟴. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿

The Crown Price wanted to walk Da-hye home but she refused. "I will go with Yul and Dang-gu." Da-hye said. She was still mad at the Crown Prince because he was thinking of Mu-deok. She knew it was immature but she could not help but to be jealous.

"I can walk you to Jeongjingak." The Crown Prince insisted. "I have nothing else to do." There was silence. Da-hye kept refusing and the Crown Prince kept insisting.

"I did not get a chance to tell you this." The Crown Prince said. "I really like your dress. I hope you will wear it again."

Da-hye just nodded and walked away. It was disrespectful but she was known to be very disrespectful. So, it did not really matter to her.

After arriving to her room in Jeongjingak, she removed the dress and changed into something else. She had wore before she was supposed to, and now it had no meaning.

It was raining heavily this night. Dang-gu was supposed to train with Da-hye today. But, he and Yul where nowhere to be found.

"Do you know where Dang-gu is?" Da-hye asked Han Yeol. Da-hye didn't know Yeol that well, but he was one of Dang-gu's mage friends.

"No, I haven't seen him." Han Yeol said. "But I heard Yul and Dang-gu went looking for a soul shifter along with Cha Beom and Gu-hyo."

"Soul shifter?" Da-hye asked.

"Yes." Han Yeol responded. "I heard Sejukwon mages talking about it."

"Thank you for letting me know." Da-hye walked away. Did they find out that Mu-deok was a soul shifter? No, did they know she was Naksu? Did her uncle know? Why had no one told her?

A few minutes later, Da-hye, Master Lee and Master Heo were talking with Sang-ho.

"Uk's binding bracelet was found in the spot where the alchemy of souls had taken place?" Master Heo asked.

"Dang-gu is looking for Young Master Jang." Sang-ho said. "Young Master Seo is searching the area around the temple."

"They were at the temple?" Master Lee asked.

"Yes, my lord." Sang-ho said.

"I doubt Uk was capable of carrying out the alchemy of souls." Master Heo said.

"What if someone has shifted their soul into Uk's body?" Da-hye asked.  Would Mu-deok shift her soul into Uk's body? Was that why she wanted Uk's gate of energy opened.

"Do not worry. I am sure he is fine." Master Lee responded.

"By the way, where is our leader among all this chaos?" Master Heo asked.

"He went out but I am not sure where." Da-hye explained. "I will go with Dang-gu to find Uk." Da-hye figured Dang-gu would be at Uk's house so she went there. 

"Da-hye." Dang-gu said. "I am looking for Uk. I think he performed the Alchemy of souls."

"Uk is not strong enough to do that." Da-hye said. "I do not think. he would perform the alchemy of souls." Maidservant Kim and Da-hye's uncle came out of the house.

"I did not know you were here as well." Dang-gu told the leader.

"What is it?" The leader asked.

"I think Uk fell victim to the alchemy of souls." Dang-gu explained.

"What?" The leader's eyes went wide.

But it turns out, as Da-hye had said, it was not Uk who performed the alchemy of souls.
