Night had come and they were still not out of this barrier. This was so annoying. How much longer would they have to be trapped here?
Da-hye was hanging out with Young Lady Heo. For these hours that they had been trapped in Jeongjingak, Da-hye and Young Lady Heo had become quite close.
"I know that Master Heo made a list of potential husbands for you." Da-hye said. "But, tell me. Is there anyone you would like to marry?" Da-hye smiled. She was curious. Some time ago, Da-hye had overheard Master Heo saying that Young Lady Heo had fallen for someone.
"Well, there is someone." Young Lady Heo smiled.
Da-hye smiled and leaned closer. "Tell me, who is it? Is he a mage?" Da-hye asked. "Is he a Jeongjingak mage?" Da-hye gasped. "Is he here right now? Who is it? Tell me!" Da-hye said excitedly.
"Young Master Jang." Young Lady Heo smiled. Jang Uk? How could she like Uk? He was not even that attractive.
"What?" Da-hye smiled faded.
"Is there something wrong?" Young Lady Heo asked.
"No, there is not." Da-hye said. "But Uk? You could do so much better. I mean Uk is not really husband material." Da-hye made a disgusted face. "Do you know how many times he has been engaged?" Da-hye asked.
Besides, a few days ago, the leader had told Da-hye what Uk and Mu-deok's secret was and it was that they loved it each other. Da-hye felt bad. Young Lady Heo would only get her heart broken.
"Was that because his gate of energy was closed?" Young Lady Heo asked.
"Well, yes it was." Da-hye responded. "But still, though you may think he is handsome, he is not husband material." Da-hye laughed. "He is so lazy, spoiled, and a troublemaker as well! A few months ago, he broke the Gwigu pottery." Da-hye laughed.
Suddenly, Young Lady Heo and Da-hye heard a loud crash. And what sounded like fighting. But who could do that? No one could cast spells here.
"What was that?" Young Lady Heo asked.
"I do not know." Da-hye said. "I will go see, stay here."
Da-hye walked towards where the noise was coming from. Loud crash and a woman sobbing. There was three people, So-i, Yul, and the soul shifter Master Kang. But how did he get here? Had he woken up and hid here? Da-hye immediately ran back to where Young Lady Heo was, she had to think of a way to save Yul.
"What was it?" Young Lady Heo asked.
But Da-hye did not respond. She was busy looking for something. A lighter.
"What are you looking for?" Young Lady Heo asked worriedly.
"The soul shifter from Sejukwon is here." Da-hye said. "He is attacking Yul. I need to help him." Da-hye said as she grabbed a lighter. "Grab that." Da-hye pointed at a flammable liquid. "We need to set the soul shifter on fire."
"Okay." Young Lady Heo followed behind Da-hye.
Just as the soul shifter was going to slash Yul, Young Lady Heo threw the liquid at him, and Da-hye threw the lighter. Da-hye picked up Yul and Young Lady Heo pulled them and So-i into another room. Da-hye placed Yul on a table.
"The only way to get to the others, is to got out again." Da-hye said. "But the soul shifter is out there. We have to think of a way to get past him."
"I can distract him." Yul said weakly.
Da-hye turned to look at him. "Do not be ridiculous."
"You cannot fight in your current state." Young Lady Heo said.
