Jinyowon had decided to call an Unanimous Assembly, without consulting Songrim. What was Jin Mu plotting this time?
Master Heo and Yul were outside the Training Center greeting the families of Unanimous Assembly. While the leader and Da-hye were inside. This was the first time that Da-hye would actually be part of the Unanimous Assembly. She would be seated next to Master Heo and the leader.
The leader was representing Songrim entirely, Master Heo was represent Sejukwon, and Da-hye would be representing Jeongjingak.
Each mage family entered one by one took their seat. Da-hye was already seated. She would be sitting next to Master Heo.
Lady Jin had invited the royal family to attend the Unanimous Assembly. There was no way for Da-hye to avoid the Crown Prince now. Was it just her fate to always have to see the Crown Prince? Usually, she would not mind seeing him. But after what had happened, she was trying her best to avoid him.
And after the royal family got here, the Unanimous Assembly began.
Most of the Crown Prince's attention was on Da-hye and she knew that. It was so hard for her not to look at him.
"The capitol has been suffering from the chaos due to many incidents regarding soul shifters ever since the appearance of Naksu." Lady Jin began speaking. "Thus, Jinyowon has generously tried to help Songrim find the source of sorcery. However, Songrim took our cooperation for granted and arrogantly began to make unreasonable demands and requests." Lady Jin explained. "They barged into Jinyowon as well as Cheonbugwan with the excuse of patrolling for sorcery. They also tried to use the relics of Jinyowon to investigate all the families of mages as if they thought everyone outside of Songrim performed sorcery." Lady Jin said.
"Unbelievable." One of the mages said.
"Worse than that, they even took one of our relics into the royal palace." Lady Jin said.
"Did Songrim really cast doubt on us?" Monk Ho-yeon asked.
"That is crossing the line." The mages started whispering about Songrim. So, this was Jin Mu's plan to make Songrim look unreasonable.
"Lady Jin, did you gather the Unanimous Assembly to vent and complain about Songrim?" The leader asked.
"Look at him. I have only started speaking, and he is already trying to shut me up." Lady Jin said.
Da-hye had respect for Lady Jin, but why did she have to be so annoying? Da-hye understood that she had been manipulated by Jin Mu, but how could she trust him? Because he found her daughter who is a fake? All of a sudden that makes him trustworthy?
"I, Jin Ho-gyeong, the leader of Jinyowon, wish to stop Songrim's arbitrary actions they justify as patrolling for sorcery." Lady Jin said. "That requires me to break the 200 year old rule that has been kept until now, which is why I have gathered you all." Lady Jin explained. What rule was she talking about? A 200 year old rule? From the time of Master Seo Gyeong?
"Bu-yeon." Lady Jin said.
Jin Bu-yeon or So-i was carrying a box wrapped in a cloth, one of Jinyowon's soldier was guiding her.
"She is Jin Bu-yeon, the long lost successor of Jinyowon who has returned after ten years." Lady Jin explained. Obviously, she was not the real Bu-yeon.
"I heard she found her daughter." A mage said. "That must be her."
"I have something to show you with the help of my daughter, who is also the successor of Jinyowon." Lady Jin said. Two soldiers put a table in front of So-i and So-i put down the box. "Songrim has been going around in search of the ice stone, the source of the alchemy of souls." Lady Jin said. Wait was Jin Mu's plan to show the Ice Stone to the world through Jinyowon? "However, that ice stone has been inside Jinyowon all along." Lady Jin said. Da-hye was right. That was Jin Mu's plan.
So-i removed the cloth and inside the rectangle was the ice stone. Everyone's faces became shocked. No one had been expecting this.
By the look on the Queen's face, Da-hye could tell that she really was working with Jin Mu. Instead of being shocked like everyone else, the Queen had a slight smirk on her face. It was so unsettling.
Oh, a rivalry was definitely forming between Songrim and Jinyowon. "Does this mean Master Seo Gyeong left one of the ice stones unharmed?" A mage finally spoke.
"I thought he destroyed all of them." Monk Ho-yeon said. "Was Songrim aware of this?" Monk Ho-yeon asked.
"If so, everything that Songrim has done until now under the pretext would be considered a fraud." The mage next to Monk Ho-yeon said.
Songrim had no idea of this, because it was not even true. The Ice stone had not been in Jinyowon but instead in the hands of Jin Mu and the fake Queen. "Do not speak nonsense!" Master Heo shouted.
"Songrim had no idea of this." Da-hye said trying to remain calm. How could the Unanimous Assembly switch up so fast on Songrim.
"Fraud is what this is." Monk Ho-yeon said. "Songrim has informed countless regulations on all of the mages under the guise of patrolling under the guise of patrolling for sorcery."
"I agree."
"You are right!"
"Did Songrim deceive us?" A mage asked. "Have we been fooled? Is that what it is?"
"Everyone, calm down." The leader said. "As it has been said before, the mages of Songrim were not aware that the ice stone was still in Jinyowon." The leader explained.
"We do not wish to hear your excuses." Monk Ho-yeon said. "We must discuss what is to be done about the ice stone that Master Seo Gyeong left behind."
"We must destroy the ice stone as it is the source of sorcery." The leader responded. "This is what Master Seo Gyeong would have wanted. We must destroy the ice stone in front of everyone here as a witness."
"He was the one who left the ice stone inside Jinyowon." Lady Jin said. "Following his command would be to leave it inside Jinyowon."
"Then you should have never brought it outside in the first place." Master Heo said. "How could you expect Songrim to stay still after having revealed it's existence?" Master Heo asked. "Are you trying to make a fool of Songrim?" That was exactly what Jin Mu, Lady Jin, and the fake Queen wanted to do.
"The leader of Jinyowon has a point." Monk Ho-yeon said. "She merely whishes to respect Master Seo Gyeong's intentions by leaving it inside Jinyowon."
"Songrim no longer has a say in what to do with the ice stone." A mage said.
"Unbelievable." Master Heo said. "Do you not even care what Songrim thinks anymore?" Master Heo asked.
Monk Ho-yeon stood up. "The purpose of this gathering is to discuss how to use the ice stone based on Master Seo Gyeong's wishes." Monk Ho-yeon said. "If Songrim has a problem with that, you may leave."
Da-hye scoffed, there was no way they were thinking of doing this.
"Agreed."
"Songrim has deceived us, so stay out of this."
"Yes, you have no say."
"Stay out of it."
"Leave if you have a problem."
"Just leave!"
"Get out!"
No one was listening to Songrim, no one was willing to listen. Everything was going according to Jin Mu's plan. But Da-hye would not let that happen.
