He cleared his throat, but remained silent. I watched him carefully, trying to see an answer. "Axel." I whispered as I looked at him. He looked at me and our eyes instantly connected. I sucked in my breath and tried not to cry.

"Belle, what do you see?" He suddenly asked.

I gulped trying to muster up the chaotic overwhelming feelings. "I see all your sorrow, grief and loneliness." I managed to answer, "What do you see?"

He closed his eyes and I sucked in my breath almost falling back, but Axel caught me. He put his arm around me and held me like that for the rest of the way. I sighed and decided to break the awkward silence. "My mom was killed when a group of fallen angels attacked the Nephilim headquarters, five years ago." I said looking down, "I never know how to explain her death, so I never answer the question."

He stopped and looked at me. "I'm sorry." He whispered.

"Don't be, it already happened so I just move along with it." I answered.

He sighed and looked up at the sky. I watched him run his hands through his hair and let out a sigh. "I know that fallen angels are always considered the bad guys, but my dad was nicest dad a boy can ever have. My mother was the loveliest woman that someone can ever meet...." he gulped and closed his eyes, he sighed again, then he opened his eyes and kept going, "My dad died first, he was defending my mom..... A set of Nephilim had attacked us when we where in the road driving home. My mom was hiding me as my dad defended her. I watched that cruel man kill. My. Dad. Right. in front of my eyes. My mom then died a few seconds after he did. The man never got to me, because my uncle had appeared and killed him. So that is why I'm very close to my uncle."

I looked at Axel. "How old where you?" I asked. I know that was wrong to say but I just wanted to know. "Seven years old." he answered.

I let out my breath and hugged him tightly. "I'm so sorry, Axel." I said as I kept hugging him. I pulled back and looked at Axel straight into his eyes. I wiped his tears and still stared into his dark eyes. I realized his eyes where less sad then a few minutes ago. I grinned and hugged him again. He wrapped his hands around me and hugged me back. He let go and kissed my cheek. "Hey I should have done that to you." I said smiling. He friendly rolled his eyes and we walked in silence. After a few minutes, we arrived in front of my house. I turned and looked at Axel. "Well, would you like to meet my step mom?" I asked. He smiled and shrugged.

After unlocking the door and entering the house, I took Axel to the kitchen where I knew my mom was. "Hello mom. I brought my friend Axel, to introduce him to you." I said. My mom smiled and looked at Axel. "Wow, nice to meet you Axel I'm Era." She said smiling and shaking Axels hand. "Nice to meet you too, Era." He said.

"It's good to know my daughter here met a good Nephilim." She said. My eyes widened.

"How do you know mom?" I gently asked.

"Oh, by the color of his eyes, of course, and being a Nephilim myself, I can easily tell who's Nephilim." She said smiling, brightly.

I smiled and shook my head. "So would you like to sit down?" She politely asked. Axel nodded and we followed Era to the living room. "Where's dad?" I asked. "Oh, he has extra work, tonight." I frowned but nodded, my dad has never had extra work. Axel looked at me for a second, seeing my silence, before looking back at Era. I tuned out as I thought about everything that has been going on. I could list them down if I could, or if I wanted. I bit the inside of my lip and started listening to what Era was saying. "So, how did you meet Belle?" She asked. I looked at Axel, expecting him to make up a lie. "Oh I met her in the front office." He said. I wanted to sink into the sofa and just disappear.
