Five minutes had passed and still no sign of movement or noise. I suddenly stopped walking as I had then realized that we were back in the living room. Grant groaned and leaned on the wall. "Okay, it's clear that no living soul but ours are here. Where's a place we haven't checked, pretty belle?" He asked.
I sighed, when was there a sentence that he doesn't say pretty belle? "The basement or the attic." I decided to ask instead.
"Right. Well then let's go check, pretty belle."
"Yeah but where first? The attic or the basement?" I asked him.
He looked at me and shrugged. "I guess the attic first since we're closer to that." He answered.
I stood quiet and nodded.
"Alright then lets get going." Grant said as he led the way.
We walked for a bit in silence, but me feeling awkward I decided to make conversation."So how did you meet Axel?" I kindly asked as I walked behind me.
"In a party." Was his answer. I nodded, but that was very vague. "How did you meet him, pretty belle?" He kept going.
I smiled as I thought back. "I met him in the front office of our school." I answered.
"Really, why there?" He asked as he opened a door.
"Well I was in trouble and he was there. So after talking to the principal, another teacher told me to take Axel to class." I answered as I entered behind him. He simply chuckled and shook his head.
"So these are the stairs for the attic?" I silently asked as I brought them down.
"Yup." He answered and climbed up. "By the looks of it no body is here pretty belle." he said when I finally made it up with him.
"Let's keep looking."
"We would've heard something by now." he said.
I shook my head, though I knew he was right. "Fine, let's go then." I said then led the way back downstairs and towards the basement. Nobody had said anything and I just kept it like that. We finally reached a door that led to the basement. The lights where off and everything was dark.
"This looks sketchy." He frowned.
I frowned too and leaned onto the window, when suddenly a quick dark movement passed before me. I screamed and jumped back. I slipped and almost fell, but Grant caught me. "You okay?" He kindly asked.
I nodded although I was still scared. "I thought I saw something." I said.
"Okay. um You know, pretty belle, let's just kick the door down but stay here." He said.
I laughed but shook my head. "No, we gotta keep looking."
He smiled and nodded back. "Alright let me just kick it down real quick." He said going forward.
"Be my guest." I bowed as I took a step back and let Grant kick the door.
I took his hand and stood him beside me to prevent him from going in as I looked inside the basement from where I stood.
"Want me to go in first pretty belle?" Grant kindly asked.
I shook my head. "No, what if you get hurt?" I asked.
He smiled, blushing a bit making me smile. "Awe, You already care for me pretty belle? That's so sweet, I already won your heart, your making me feel so special."
I blushed and just shook my head. "Oh shut up now." I said as I looked down in embarrassment.
He laughed. "Don't worry I cared for you since the second my eyes landed on yours." He said adding a wink on the end.
