Only look at me

Almost everyone in the campus knows the popular group of friends, Roseanne, Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo and Y/N. Among them, Roseanne and Y/N probably have the best chemistry since both of them have the completely opposite personalities. Roseanne is very bubbly, super friendly to everyone, energetic all the time. She is the most outgoing one in the group and she is the only one that is actually approachable. The rest just not so much.

Not as bad as Y/N though.

She has rest bitch face on every single second. Nothing seems to interest her in the slightest bit. Whenever she crosses her arms, everybody automatically moves away since they thought they would be in danger if they even breath in her direction accidentally. She doesn't talk much even when she is in her friend group. Not that she hates talking but she is slow with words. She is the very typical type that she will only finish processing information after the topic is already over so she doesn't really have the chance to talk.

People assume that she is mad for every second that she is alive but that's not true. It's really just her face. She is staring at the space for most of the time and trying to think of what to eat for the next meal. When everyone is laughing, she will be the only one that is still confused of what is going on in the class.

It's true that her personality is overall indifferent. She just simply doesn't know how to put obvious emotions on her face. Just like how she really loves Roseanne but whenever she thought she is looking at her lovingly, everyone else will think that Roseanne must have pissed her off earlier on for Y/N to glare at her like dead meat.

Roseanne used to think that Y/N didn't like her for the same reason. She could feel herself sweating when the latter stared at her quietly without saying anything. She would awkwardly smile back at her and tried not to breath as loud.

"Do you hate me or something?"
Roseanne had confronted her once because it was so scary.

"No,"

"Then why would you glare at me like I did something wrong?"

"I am not glaring,"
Y/N stated plainly.

"Then what is that intense eye contact for?"

"I like you, that's all,"
And she said that expressionlessly. Roseanne thought she heard it wrong because how could someone be so calm when they said such thing?

"Pardon?"

Y/N stayed quiet for a minute, trying to think of another explanation that was more clear.

"If I should put this in simpler term, it would be that I have a crush on you,"

Yes, Roseanne knows that Y/N has a crush on her all along the time. But she doesn't give Y/N any answer. Well, it's not like Y/N says that she needs one anyway. It was awkward between them for a few days because of Y/N's sudden confession but after realising that Y/N acted like how she was as usual, she too thought that maybe it was not as deep as she thought it was. Hence, she treated Y/N as the same way again for the next two years. It was as if the confession never happened. Both of them know that the feeling is not mutual so none of them brings it up ever again.

Is Y/N dying to let Roseanne know how good of a girlfriend she will be though? Yes. Of course. Absolutely. However, there is never a chance for her to show her warm side. Roseanne just have too many friends who will do things for her and Y/N is never the first one she will ask for help when she has a problem.

Their friendship is hard to describe. They are close but not too close. Y/N's closest friend is Roseanne but Roseanne's closest friend is not her. If we have to descibe it using scenarios, it would be that they are close enough to share a plate of food but not close enough to use the same spoon.
