𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗦, Go Won

𝟬𝟮𝟰. 𝗔 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆

Mu-deok had passed the test but she had passed out on the finish line so she was taken to Sejukwon.  Dang-gu, Da-hye, and Maidservant Park were greeting the four other Songrim servants.

"This Young Master is the nephew of Songrim's leader and the future leader of our organization." Maidservant Park said talking about Dang-gu.  The servants bowed their head to Dang-gu. "This Young Lady is the niece of Songrim's leader." Maidservant Park said talking about Da-hye. The servants also bowed their head to Da-hye.

"We have come to greet you on behalf of the leader." Dang-gu said.

"Congratulations on becoming a Songrim member." Da-hye said.

"You all did a great job today." Dang-gu said. "Tonight, you will be served with a generous amount of alcohol and meat." Dang-gu smiled. "So relax and have fun." Dang-gu said. The servants cheered.

"Go get yourselves a drink." Maidservant Park said.

"Follow me." Another servant told them.

"Young Master and Young Lady Park," Maideservant Park said. "Are you two acquainted with Mu-deok, the servant who passed the exam today?" Maidservant Park asked. "I am talking about the maid  who came in last."

"Yes, we are very well acquainted with Mu-deok." Dang-gu answered. "She fainted due to exhaustion and got taken to Sejukwon." Dang-gu explained.

"I need to return the bag she brought to the contest...." Maidservant Park grabbed her bag and a  entrance plaque. "Along with this entrance plaque." Maidservant Park explained. "Is she still at Sejukwon?"

"Give it to me. I will give it to her." Dang-gu took the bag from Maidservant Park. "You did a great job today."

"Get some rest." Dang-gu told Da-hye."I will take this to Mu-deok."

"All right." Da-hye said and walked away.

Da-hye went back to Jeongjingak and saw Uk, she sat in front of him.

"Why do you look so sad?" Da-hye asked. But Uk stayed silent.  "Is this your way of throwing a fit now?" Da-hye  broke the silence.

"No." Uk said. "I am just taking my training seriously."

Minutes later, Dang-gu joined them and started ranting about Mu-deok and Yul.

"Up until now, I was just teasing them." Dang-gu leaned back on his chair. "But Mu-deok is actually in love with Yul. And seeing how Yul gave her that, I am guessing he has some feelings as well."

"She probably asked him for the whistle." Uk said. "When she needs something, she easily flatters people and lies."

"Yul even knew about Mu-deok's  test." Dang-gu said. "He solved all the test questions for her."

"Oh, that is right." Da-hye nodded.

"She probably asked Yul to help her out beforehand because she was so desperate to pass." Uk said. "She always gets what she wants." It seemed like Uk was annoyed at Dang-gu talking about Mu-deok and Yul. Was he in love with Mu-deok?

"Most importantly, I saw them affectionately spending time together." Dang-gu said.

"What?" Uk stuttered. "Affectionately?"

Dang-gu chuckled. "Mu-deok and Yul met up with each other separately." Dang-gu explained. "I guess you did not know because you were locked up in the Training Center. Gosh." Dang-gu smiled.

"No, I had no idea." Uk said.

The next day, Dang-gu had woken up Da-hye early because it was Uk's first day. Da-hye did not start her day at the same time as other mages did, so naturally, she was annoyed.

But when they went to wake up Uk, he did not want to wake up. So,  Da-hye woke up early for nothing. But, they went to Jeongjingak with the other mages. Da-hye did not understand how they were so energetic so early in the morning.

"Where is Young Master Jang?" Mu-deok asked Dang-gu and Da-hye as they went inside. "Is he not here?"

 "Well....we went to wake him up, but he told us he did not sleep a wink last night." Dang-gu said.

"So he did not wake up? On his first day?" Mu-deok asked.

Dang-gu nodded. "See you later, Mu-deok."  He and Da-hye walked away.

Later that day, Da-hye went with her uncle to Jinyowon to give Words of the Heart to the Jinyowon leader. Da-hye sat in a chair on the table.

"Jang Uk went home." Sang-ho said. "Are you sure that is okay?"

"Let him do whatever he wants so he can remain lazy." The leader said. Da-hye overheard their conversation, now she was curious, why did her uncle want Uk to not train to become better?

"My lord." A Jinyowon soldier said. "lady Jin is asking you to wait a little longer."

"Is she with another guest?" The leader asked.

The soldier bowed her head and left.

"I saw a servant from Cheonbugwan on our way inside." Sang-ho said. 

"That must mean that Assistant Gwanju Jin Mu is here." Da-hye said.

"They are not close enough to personally meet up like this." The leader said. "Just in case, go see if anyone leaves." The leader told Sang-ho.

Some time later, Lady Jin had finally come to talk to them

"If this is what Master Lee wants, we will store Words of the Heart safely in Jinyowon." Lady Jin said.

"Were you meeting someone else before us?" The leader asked.

"A distant relative." Lady Jin said.

Could that distant relative be Jin Mu?

"Is Young Lady Jin going to be the official heir of Jinyowon?" The leader asked.

Da-hye knew that Lady Jin's husband had been trying to find their eldest daughter, Jin Bu-yeon. Was Da-hye's uncle suspecting that Jin Mu could also be looking for her?

"That has not been decided yet." Lady Jin said. "My eldest daughter might still be alive."

"It has been ten years since the accident." The leader said.

Ten years ago, Jin Bu-yeon went missing in Lake Gyeonchondaeho.

"Although she could not see, she could feel energy and could control relics like no other." The leader said. "She was a clever girl."

"Unlike other babies, it took her 13 months to come out into this world." Lady Jin explained. "She was born on the very day that Gwanju Jang Gang picked as a blessed day from the skies."

That was strange.

"She was born on the day that Jang Gang picked for you?" The leader asked. "Is it possible to choose the date and time of a baby's birth?"

"It just happened to match." Lady Jin said.  Da-hye could tell that she was nervous.

"I would like to invite Master Lee to Jinyowon someday." Lady Jin said. "Please tell him that."

"I will." The leader said.
