''Oh, honey,'' I say when I see the blade pressed to her thigh.

''Please, fix it,'' she whispers,

''What? the cuts? Of course, let's clean them up! can you give me the blade?'' I say but she shakes her head.

''No, fix me.''

Lizzie POV

''Let's clean the cuts first, and you don't need fixing love. You need to heal, that's totally different'' I say a little stunned. Why does she need fixing? I take the blade from her and grab the first aid kit. You can see this kit has been used a lot. I clean the cuts and then bandage them. Riley is lost in thought while I do this, just staring at the wall in front of her.

''All done,'' I say

''Thank you, mama- oh, oops. Sorry'' She says and quickly walks out of the room. I can't help but squeal a little. I mean she wrote 'Happy birthday, mama' in my birthday card but never said it out loud again. It makes me feel so much goodness, I can't even explain it.

I walk into her room and see Riley pacing. I walk up to her and place my hand on her shoulder. ''What did you say?'' I ask with a smile and an enthusiastic tone, so she knows I'm not mad. She shakes her head but I nod my head and she signs.

''Thank you, I said thank you.'' She says but I shake my head.

''And then'' I say, my smile growing.

''mama'' She whispers.

''YOU CALLED ME MAMA'' I cheer and then hug her tightly. She laughed at me and that is exactly why I did this.

''You're okay with me calling you mama?'' She asks

''Am I okay with it? I love it. Of course!'' I say and hug her again.

''OMG,'' I say

''What?''

''I have to tell Robbie, he is going to be so jealous,'' I say with a smirk

''He wants me to call him mama?'' Riley asks with a straight face and we just stare at each other for a while before bursting out in laughter.

We walk downstairs together, into the living room where Robbie is playing a game on his phone, or something.

''Guess what!'' I start and he looks up. ''Riley called me mama!'' I say and can't help but jump around a bit.

''What? omg. I want one of those.'' He says

''You want me to call you mama?'' Riley asks and she laughs again, I snicker a bit and Robbie just shakes his head.

''Well, no. Come here while Lizzie is still jumping.'' He says and pats the spot next to him.

''So, what do I have to do to earn a 'Dad'?'' He asks and Riley shrugs while thinking hard. ''He, no worries kiddo. I'm just kidding. Do you wanna call Lizzie Mama from now on?'' He asks and I stop jumping for a second, I can see her thinking and then look at me.

''Do you?'' I ask, everything she says is okay, I'm just very happened she said it at least once, or twice. She thinks and then nods. I smile even more widely and jump through the room.

''So if her talking is called the 'Lizzie tornado', what's this called?'' I hear Riley ask Robbie

''It's called, I married a big toddler.'' He says and they both laugh. Riley rests her head on Robbie's shoulder and I see him smile at her. Riley doesn't initiate physical contact with Robbie a lot. It's very rare and I can see him light up every time she does it. I wrap his arm around her shoulder and pull her further into him. ''I love you kiddo, and remember everything happens at your pace, okay. And about that math test; if I ever got a B in math I would've called the newspapers.''

''It's  B-, Robbie. That's bad.'' She argues.

''No, it's good. It might be a little lower than you normally get but it is high enough. You can't always get the best grades or stuff like that. Sometimes you have to be okay with a little less. I know that is hard but it's the way life works. You know sometimes I work on a song very hard, we record it and our fans hate it, while the song we've put almost no effort into gets the most listens. It's not fair but the way it is. So no more panicking about lower grades, panic about better stuff kiddo.'' He ends his story with a joke and I'm a little worried Riley doesn't think it's a joke but that goes away when I see her laugh a bit.

''Done jumping, mama?'' She asks me. Well, I was but her calling me mama again made me start again. ''My god, if you continue jumping like that I will never call you that again.'' She threatens, I know it's a joke but it makes me stop and take a seat next to her on the couch.

''So, now the energy is out of our toddler, movie night?'' Robbie suggests and Riley and I both agree. Movie night is the best way to close out a weekend like this one.
