Riley POV

My alarm wakes me up like it does every day. I quickly get up and change before running downstairs. I'm a little taken aback by Mama and Robbie being there. It's super early and they both had today off so I thought they would be sleeping in. 

''Morning Kid, I made some toast for you!'' He says pointing to the plate next to Mama's.

''Thank you,'' I smile at him and take a seat. I dig in and from the corner of my eyes, I see Mama smiling at me. ''So what are you two doing up?'' I ask

''Didn't you have a game today, sweetie?'' Mama asks

''Yeah I do''

''Well, since it's your first since we've adopted you we're going to watch. We want to go every time but it got canceled a lot so we're happy we can go today,'' Robbie says

''Oh, you don't have to, I'm sure you have better things to do'' I say

''What's better than watching your daughter be the best on her team'' Robbie says

''Well I'm not the best so..'''

''To me you are'' He says

''You've never seen my play?'' I question

''True, but I just know.'' He says with a smug smirk and I shake my head before finishing my toast.

The coach tells us the plan for today and we should be able to win this game if we play well. He says that if everyone is at his or her best it will be fine. I'll be playing in my own position in the defense, the coach is not planning on benching me anywhere in the game so he tells me to divide my energy the right way. 

We all go to the field to warm up and Levi and I joke around a bunch. He waves to this girl sitting pretty close to Mama and Robbie. She is so pretty I can't. 

''Who is she?'' I ask Levi

''That is my twin sister, why?''

''Oh, nothing, I've seen her around a bunch'' I shrug, why is it my luck that I have a secret crush on my only friend's twin? I look back over her but she is already looking my way. I looked around me but Levi had run off to some other teammate, I looked back at her and she was still looking. I smile at her and give her a little wave, which she returns. I'm squealing on the inside but she is way too pretty to like me the way I like her. Next to that, I don't know her and she doesn't know me. 

The game starts and before we know it we're one goal ahead. I help the team around the middle line and before it's halftime we're three goals ahead. The opposite team has been able to get past me or my teammates on the defense line. 

During the break, our coach talked some more about the plan and how we were going to play the second half. The focus is on scoring a few more times and to get a big win. We get back on the field and I wave and Mama and Robbie who are sitting there with big smiles on their faces. They wave back and give me a thumbs-up. 

Within ten minutes we get a corner ball and I run op the field. My teammate kicks the ball but the opponent heads the ball my way. I catch it with my body and it lands at my feet. I look around but there are no free players. I hear the coach yell ''SHOOT''. I kick the ball a little, run to it, and kick it to the goal. I've never scored before, so all I do is freeze as I see the ball slide over the line and my teammates yell happily before running to me. I scored. I celebrate a little before running back to my position and the opponent kicks off the game again. 

With two other goals the game is nearing its end and the opponent is getting frustrated. I mean I would be two if it was six against zero. The team is playing more aggressively and I don't like that but I've gotta keep going. 

This girl runs towards our goal and I run beside her. I slide in and my feet hit the ball, which goes flying to my teammate who passes it to the front line. The girl gets frustrated and instead of jumping over me, she steps on my ankle with all her weight. I scream out in pain and the girl claims she did nothing. I couldn't care less about her claims right now. My teammates come running to me. Levi and our goalkeeper yell at the girl, I guess they saw what happened. The referee comes and waves my coach over. The coach and nurse take a look at me and I see the nurse look worried. The coach and Levi help carry me to the sidelines since I can't put any pressure on my foot. 

Levi tells me he will get Lizzie and Robbie and I nod at him. The nurse carefully removed my shoe and sock which hurt like hell. She puts some ice on it and tells me to keep it still. She tells me she is not sure what is wrong but my pain level and the level of swelling aren't telling her anything good.  

Soon enough Lizzie and Robbie are by my side. Lizzie sits next to me and helps me sit up. I fall into her and cry. She comforts me while Robbie talks with the nurse. 

''Okay, kiddo, we've gotta get you to the hospital. I'm sorry. Can I pick you up and carry you to the car? Levi is grabbing your stuff.'' Robbie tells me. 

''Okay, yes you can,'' I tell him. I'm not happy about going to the hospital but the pain is too much to bear. Robbie bends to pick me up but I start to get dizzy.

''Wow, Robs stop. Riley, look at me, are you okay?'' Mama asks I look at her confused. ''You turned all pale,'' She says softly and wipes some hair out of my face. I go to reply but my vision starts to turn black.

''Mama?'' I say softly before everything stops.
