3rd person POV

What if it is all fake? This is the only question that Riley can think of. She hasn't had a movie night in so long. She is snuggled into Lizzie like she always did to her mom. Robbie is on the same spot Dad would have been. Riley can't help but think back to some of her best memories with her parents.

5 years old. Riley POV

I am so happy right now. The school had finally ended! It's summer break now. When the last bell rings I grab my bag and literally throw my stuff in it. I say goodbye to my teacher and run out of the school to my mommy's car. I see mommy and daddy standing in front of the car. I run straight to mom and hug her tight. She laughs and kisses the top of my head. I turn to give dad a hug and then I get in the car. On our way home I tell them about my school day and they listen and ask some questions. After that, they put up a disney playlist and I sang my heart out. We wait in the driveway for a second, letting me finish the last song before we get out.

''So, do you have homework?'' I hear mommy ask and I shake my head.

''No, the teacher said we could enjoy our day without homework today.''

''Thats nice of her! How about we have a movie day then?'' she asks as dad opens the door. I look at mom with big eyes and run upstairs to my room. I quickly put my bag somewhere in my room, I can find it later, and change into my pjama's before running back downstairs with my favorite stuffed animal. I walk into the kitchen finding mom and dad and say; ''I am ready''. Their heads turn to me and they laugh. Mommy walks to me and lifts me up.

''Well that's good, what movie do you want to watch first?'' She asks while walking into the living room.

''How about the lion king?'' She hums and grabs the remote before sitting in the corner of the couch with me between her legs. My back rests against her front and I move around a bit until I am comfortable. Dad walks in with some drinks and snacks. He puts them on the table before sitting next to mom. He lays his arm around mom's shoulder and mom leans into him.

We spent the night watching all the movies I want. I love nights like this, watching my favorite movies with my favorite people in the whole world. I hope this never ends.

7 years old. Still Riley POV

I have been sick this whole week. It sucks big time. Mommy was able to work from home but today she had a meeting across town she couldn't miss. After some convincing she let me stay home alone. She promised me it will be for two hours tops and hugged me to death before leaving. I decided to watch a movie while she was gone, I got myself a glass of chocolate milk and got comfy on the couch. I put on my favorite movie ever: the lion king. ...

The movie is almost done when I here the front door open. I pause the movie and sit up listening. ''Lee?'' I hear dad yell. I run to him and hug him like I always do. ''Hey dad! What are you doing home?''

''Well mom called me and said she was running late so I got out of work to be with you.'' He says while kissing the top of my head. ''So what were you doing?''

''Watching a movie! Do you want to finish it with me?''

''I would love to!'' He says and we walk into the living room. I sit back in the corner and he sits next to me. He puts his arm around me and I lay my head on his shoulder. After the lion king we start up the little mermaid and wait for mom to come home.
