Y/n's POV

My ears perked up at the voice of Mikey. Guilt took over as I realized that I hadn't spoken to him since that day on the beach.

I hope he won't be mad at me...

My worries were lifted when he walked in with a bright smile and sat in the small but empty spot between me and Yamagishi. "Takemitchy said I could find you here watching a movie with some of my gang. You guys mind if I join?" I smiled and looked toward Akkun, who seemed to be staring down at the floor where he sat a good bit away. "Why are you looking at him?" My attention was brought back to Mikey and I smiled once again.

"This is Akkun's home. I can't say either way if someone else can come into his home. That wouldn't be right, Mikey." I watched as an unreadable expression quickly appeared and disappeared before he smiled.

"Akkun said it's fine." Mikey smiled and I felt relieved.

"No, I didn't." My eyes widened as I looked past Mikey to see a frustrated Akkun. "He barged in here looking for you." I looked at Mikey in horror, but he wouldn't look back at me.

I stood up, grabbed his hand and pulled him out of Akkuns' home, stopping only a few steps away from outside the closed door. "Mikey, what are you doing? Why would you be a bully?"

"I just wanted to see you..." He muttered.

Mikey's POV

Takemitchy told me not to come, saying I would do more harm than good, and I blew him off because I couldn't see how that could happen.

He thought being honest would help her believe in him more, but he felt his heart shatter when he heard her sniffles. His focus shot up to her tear-filled eyes watching him. This made him remember every time he had hurt her in the timelines before.

"Did you ever think that being cruel to those we care about just so you can see me would make me feel guilty?" He felt his eye twitch but couldn't think of what to say. "You can't be mean to those you care about for some girl you just met. That isn't right!"

He stood frozen as she walked past him and went back into Akkuns' home. He walked to his motorcycle in silence until he heard her saying goodbye to the guys. He looked back to see her coming toward him with her head down before stopping in front of him.

"I apologized for both of us." Confusion took over as he felt her embrace him. "I know you are kind. So, don't treat others badly for me, okay? Please?" He felt the tears start to build up as he hugged her back, cursing Takemitchy for passing on large tear ducts like it's a virus. He was surprised when she pulled back to look him in the eye. He looked away but she brought her hands to cup his face. The gesture brought back the memory of her confession to him and he closed his eyes as she used her thumbs to wipe away his tears.

"I know there's something you aren't telling me. I think whatever it is, it scares you, but..." His eyes shot open in a panic, but her soft smile calmed him down as she continued. "Whatever it is that scares you, it won't scare me." Every part of his soul warmed at this and he wanted nothing more than to keep it like this forever.

But of course...

"Oi! Emma said you came to see Y/n and I want more Yakisoba!"
