Ran's POV

He was already very well aware that Y/n was being hidden away from him. It was way too much of a coincidence that he couldn't find the keys to his motorcycle, got cut off at nearly every intersection on the way to the mall, and when he finally got to the mall, no one had even heard of Y/n.

He was already pretty sure who went through all of this trouble, but Ran could be patient when he had to be. This was different. He really wanted to be. His patience finally paid off when he saw you sitting on a bench with Kakucho. He had nothing against the guy one bit. That being said, he isn't going to wait.

I've been held back enough.

Y/n's POV

I'm already feeling really tired. I think that I spent so much time being scared from that movie, that now my energy is running on gas alone!

"I'm glad you've been doing well, but you seem tired now." Kakucho spoke softly. Before I could answer, a familiar voice cut in.

"Yeah, you really do. Let's get you somewhere to rest, okay?" Seeing Ran smile at me without having flirted at all made me relax and smile back at him. I nodded, allowing him to move closer and pull me to a standing position until I couldn't even feel the floor anymore. "How can you be this tired?"

I laughed softly, laying my head against his chest and closing my eyes. "Thank you for not being mad at me, Ran."

His soft chuckle shook me a bit. "Why would I be bad at a pretty girl who won't talk to me because I give her attention? I know I'm a flirt. I can understand why it would make a girl like you uncomfortable." He let out a sigh as he continued taking us somewhere it was noticeable more quiet. When it was quieter and I felt him sit with me in his lap, I opened my eyes to see what looked like an abandoned building.

Fatigue no longer being an issue as curiosity took over, I looked around in amazement at what seemed to be not just an abandoned building but an abandoned home. "You're such a strange girl. Shouldn't girls like being treated like they're attractive? Yet here you are getting mad at me because you take it as an insult. Is it because it's coming from me?"

The tone behind his words made me look toward him with regret.

I didn't mean to make him think he was wanted....

"You do the same thing to all girls. I've heard you go clubbing and you are known for doing that same thing there. It isn't flattering if that's how you treat all women. When you treat all women like they're attractive at the same level, it's the same to me as saying none of them are." My words seemed to float off as I finished.

He laid his head against the wall, not looking away from me for a long time before smiling softly. The sudden warmth felt like a window to a dream.

An abandoned building. With him being in front of me there, too.

Ran's POV

This girl is definitely putting me through the ringer but I get it. I understand. She is an odd one but even so, it makes me smile.

Ran's eyes widened as Y/n cupped his cheeks before bringing him closer to place a kiss he wanted to hold onto forever on his lips. A feeling he felt like he had lost at some point, but he knew that couldn't be true.

In his minds' eye, he saw her smiling back at him as she was leaving, but he didn't want her to go. Whether it makes sense now or not, he found himself moving a hand to the back of her head to bring her in again for a kiss he could control.

For a kiss he could make last.

This time.
