Y/n's POV
Hearing a repetitive knock jolted me from sleep. I looked at the clock, slowly sliding off the headphones from Rindou to see it's a Sunday morning.
Who would visit me so early?
I tiptoe to my door, only to be overwhelmed with confusion at seeing a distraught Manjiro at my door. I quickly open my door, pulling him in by the hand as worry swept through my veins. I pulled him to my couch to sit down and immediately ran to get him water and bandages, just in case he got into a fight and I just can't see his wounds.
He hasn't even said a word. He just keeps staring at me like he wants to cry...
"Mikey?" I tried to speak softly but my voice cracked. He continued to stare without a word and I found myself reaching out to him, moving random stray hair from his eyes. Warmth flooded my heart as he leaned into my touch.
"I'm sorry, Y/n." As I saw his tears began to form, my own formed as well, but I couldn't explain why. "I'm selfish, right? After every way I hurt you and I still don't want to let you go.."
I feel like my heart is breaking but why? He hasn't ever hurt me...but I feel like....
Without holding back, I wrapped my arms around him in a tight embrace, letting his tears fall on my shoulder as I whisper "It's okay."
Even if you hurt me...
"It's okay, Jiro.." I pulled back to look him in the eye with a teary smile.
Even if you killed me...
"You're worth every pain to me!"
Mikey's POV
I hate crying but I'm so relieved.
Mikey's eyes widened before closing with warm contentment as you pressed soft kisses over his face.
Just like you did before....
Heart pounding, he made his first move by cupping your cheeks in return. He chuckled softly at how flustered you suddenly became.
Kenny was right. She gives love to others without thinking they would want to do the same. Sorry for calling you dumb, Kenny.
Unable to think of what to say, he simply leaned his forehead against yours, letting only the sound of breathing echo off your walls. "Mikey...please tell me what you need to say. Please?"
Hearing your quivering voice, he felt like he was still a coward. Still so afraid of what he already knew wouldn't happen.
"I can't ask you to accept me...." He swallowed hard before continuing. "But I need you to know..."
I need you to know what I wanted to tell you then.
"You're my first love, too." Closing the gap quickly, he pressed his lips to yours like he wanted to make up for all the wrong he did. He knew when enough was enough but couldn't help the sting in his heart when you pushed him back a little.
"You said 'too'....did we know each other before?" Your question brought a painful dread into his heart.
"I have to go." He got up before you could even stop him, running out the door and on his motorcycle without stopping for even a moment.
