Chapter 22: The Blight

The clouds parted slowly. The anticipation struck them all as nobody emerged for a couple seconds. Suddenly a gorgeous silver haired angel emerges.

Zeus admired the angel with awe as did Odin. Freya didn't show much reaction. With elegance, the angel floated downward with her arms spread out. Nobody did anything yet. Suddenly, a blinding radiant flash covers the battlefield. It was so powerful, it even halted all fighting that was taking place. The light was just as dominant as Duma's earlier Call to Ascension. However, this was no Ascension call. Her power was so magnificent, it rivaled one. When the blinding light faded, Aniel, Freya, Zeus, and Odin were finally able to see what caused it. It was nothing more than an abrupt sprouting of her glorious wings. She had 12.

The angel cracked her neck a few times as if she just woke from a thousand year nap.

"Ah.. it's been so long since all of my wings were on full display... Oh..?" Mikaela said curiously. She looked behind at her own wings. She flapped two in particular only.

"Looks like I grew two extra... How will you see me now my love... Azura... I'm half of what you once were..!" Mikaela said erotically. The party below all gave her weird looks and Aniel just shook her head in disgust. Mikaela could sense Aniel's reaction and quickly snapped her focus onto her. Her eyes narrowed a bit as she looked at Excalibur and Gungnir. The Archangel gave a sinister snicker. Aniel did a stance with her sword preparing to fight.

"I knew it was you. I see you have another godly artifact as well. I think... I'll punish you first..." Mikaela stated coldly. Aniel felt chills run along her body. Mikaela puts a hand on her gut. She then uses her right hand to reach inside her throat. She moaned in what seemed like pain, or possibly even pleasure and slowly began to pull out a sharp silver bright longsword out of it.

"Ahh...." She let out as the tip of the blade finally made it's way out of her throat. Freya looked a bit scared as she backed up a bit.

"The energy coming from that blade.." Freya followed up as she kept backing up a couple more meters.

"What the hell is that weapon... It's more powerful than even Excalibur!" Freya continued to panic some. Odin teleported behind her and put an arm on her shoulder to calm her.

"I know. This is no ordinary angel... She's on the same level... As Amaterasu.." Odin remarked. Zeus butted in,

"An angel on the level of Amaterasu and Ra. That's... Interesting..." Mikaela noticed their wary behavior and couldn't help but laugh a bit. Although she wanted to kill all of them, most of her bloodlust was set towards Aniel. The Archangel raised her sword upwards and says,

"This is my divine weapon. Holy Blood-stained Blight Longsword... Used in the mighty war against The Dragon Gods, and Horseman of the Apocalypse. I had it sealed inside me after I put this part of myself away for a better future for heaven. But it seems, I must once again become a monster... In Azura's image!" Mikaela said before violently flying towards Aniel. Even though the red haired Seraph had been in battle stance the entire time she still was caught off guard by the Archangel's speed. She slams her longsword down at Aniel who quickly shields by raising Excalibur. The shockwave was powerful enough to sweep the planet. It was so intense that the gods nearby had to flex their auras to prevent flying back. The two remained there with their weapons locked for a bit.

"Geez, even her speed is impressive..." Freya said impressed. Zeus nodded in agreement.

"Yea. Though her step is slower than Amaterasu. Still..." Zeus remarked. Aniel began to speak,

"My oh my..." Aniel said before she does a backflip breaking the clash hold they were in.

" A blade as powerful as Excalibur... Sounds like I'm gunna need to take your sword as well..." Aniel followed up gleefully. Mikaela had a confident smirk on her face. They both flew towards each other at blinding speed. They did another deafening clash but instead of stopping they continued an onslaught of slashes. However the fight wasn't just stationary. They used their angelic wings to dart around while simultaneously clashing. They were moving so fast and frequently, they were practically omnipresent from a bystander view. Appearing everywhere at once, but that's because they literally were. Flying and soaring all over the planet during their engagement. At some point in the clashes Mikaela kicks her in the face and sends her plummeting towards some open plain. A crater is immediately formed on impact. Aniel wipes blood from her mouth and rushed back at the Archangel. She went for a vertical slash and Mikaela blocks with a horizontal one. However Aniel did a sneaky move, with a gesture with her toes, she summons Gungnir and it flies towards the Archangel's back. Aniel smiled as the spear honed in. However... Her expression changed to pure horror as the angel caught it with one hand without turning around.
