Flora swore she was regaining consciousness, but it could've only been a myth.
I have to wake up! She willed herself, but it didn't seem to be working.
But soon Flora heard voices she couldn't recognize. They were voices, and they also weren't in her head.
She finally opened her eyes, and discovered people were around her.
"Is she ok?"
"Is she dead?"
"Why is she the last to wake up?"
"Who is she?"
"I asked you all to be quiet only a moment ago. Especially you, Cole. Be quiet."
"Am I still allowed to talk? I'm Flora's best friend! I know all about her!"
Okay, maybe there were a few voices she could recognize, but those were only the voices of her mother, Lilly and her best friend, Arabella.
She still felt she couldn't wake up. Not just yet.
At the same time, she had to. Her mother was wondering what happened to her, and so was Arabella. It also seemed the other voices were just as concerned, except for the person named Cole. He sounded like a jerk. This is Flora's quote, not mine.
"Is she going to be ok?"
"I don't know yet, but we should give her some space." Lilly's voice suggested.
Soon enough to Flora's surprise and everyone else's she sat up in an instant.
"Well we know she's not dead," Cole snickered, brown eyes glowing in pleasure.
"Where are we?" Flora asked, marveling the forest around her.
"We're in the Earth Forest. Flora, I know this came up all of a sudden, but you have powers no one has heard of in centuries. The last time the Awakening actually happened was long ago, in the 1600s." Lilly said.
"So what is it that we're supposed to do?" Another soft voice asked.
"I'm glad you asked that Selene. But I honestly don't know." Lilly answered, not knowing what to do at all.
"Wait, who are these people?" Flora asked, trying not to be rude (even though she kinda was).
"From left to right there's Selene, Asher, Jason, and Cole." Lilly replied, almost sneering at the last word, Cole.
Flora jumped into another question." Why didn't you tell me about my powers?"
Lilly sighed and then answered." This goes for all of you; you're supposed to find out about your Element on your own and especially during the Awakening."
Flora wanted to punch something. This big of a secret, just opening itself up like a budded flower now? She was only a kid, it's not like she could save the world!
But it was her destiny.
Lilly gasped as if she'd gotten a striking idea." I think since you've all gotten your powers just now, you should train. It'll be the Opposites against each other first." Then she turned away, as if arguing with herself.
Flora stood up, as everyone gave a 'what's going on' shrug as Flora returned the gesture.
Lilly finally turned around." Yep, Flora and Asher up first."
"But wait, how to we use our powers?" The ice blue eyed almost black brown haired 13 year old boy asked hopefully.
"You need to feel it within you, but as an Earth Obtainer myself, it's not easy, and it's not something I can help with."Lilly answered, not feeling helpful.
Flora glanced over at Arabella, not knowing what this training had in store for her.
What do I do? She mouthed to Arabella.
Arabella gave a nervous smile and a thumbs up in reply. Flora walked over to the center of the forest, where all the trees happened to create a circle around the center high above.
"Ready?" Lilly asked.
Flora and Asher nodded, and Flora closed her eyes in intense focus. She soon opened them, and saw plants wrapped in a forcefield like structure, as Asher flew in the air, trying to logically find a solution. Flora started to gracefully raise her arms up, and the plants did too. Asher was soon wrapped in plants, and struggling to get free, but soon his eyes closed and his body went limp.Flora found herself on the ground, and then she passed out too.
