The Elements

Chapter Nine

Asher was dreaming, and his dreams were so far harmless and so far peaceful.
But the next dream he had wasn't like the others.
Asher was hovering over a blackened ocean, and he was honestly scared to death. Jason was with him, scared as well.
"Asher,what's going on?" His brother asked, looking at Asher with fear written on his face.
" I don't know," Asher answered slowly, carefully scanning his surroundings. The ocean was an inky black, and the sky was a dull, bleak gray, and there was a woman lying on a cloud, motionless.
"Hey, who's that?" Jason asked, pointing to the dark haired woman in a cloud white dress.
Asher started to fly forward. "Come on," He said. Asher watched as Jason struggled to follow him, but Asher kept going.
He was soon near the unmoving woman, who looked deathly pale.
Jason was soon next to him. "Are you ok?" He asked the woman, concern showing in his voice.
The woman sat up, and looked at the boys in astonishment. " Oh no," She gasped.
Asher didn't react, but inside he asked himself, What did we do?
He glanced over at his brother, and he looked just as confused as he was.
"I am Aria, the Guardian of Air. I haven't been summoned back into the Element World, therefore you'll only see me in dreams. You need to go, I'll be alright, you boys need to go." The woman explained, her voice sounding weak and unstable.
"But why? You're probably more important than we are." Asher said, concern in his eyes. Something told him he should help this woman, that he knew her from somewhere.
" I don't think I told you but, the Darkness is slowly taking over. You need to go before-" Aria never got to finish her sentence because arrows started to fly through the air.
Asher created a barrier with Jason's help to ward off the arrows.
"You need to go! Now!" Aria yelled as her voice turned hoarse.
Asher and Jason left the barrier up and flew for their lives.
But soon a black, death like mist rose into the air and surrounded them, trapping them.
"What's happening!" Jason cried out.
Asher felt lightheaded, weak, and the world was too dark.
He passed out, not caring about anything else.
But what about the woman he'd met earlier?
