The voice in the attic [All x reader]

Never trust demons.

That line echoed in your mind the whole night. You sighed tossing and turning in your bed. No, it wasn't even your bed. You didn't know if it was dinner or just the whole ordeal you had been going through but you couldn't sleep.

"...h.e....lp....me."

Who said that.

You shot up, using the blankets as a sort of shield after hearing the whisper. Looking around the room, you slowly got out of bed.

"Someone..help...me."

It was coming from outside your room and,

You told yourself, don't get dragged into this again.

Mind your own business.

Yet, you found yourself up the spiral staircase leading to where the sound came from.

You watched too many shows to know this was never a good sign.

But you couldn't help it.

The voice sounded too pitiful, you couldn't resist checking who it was and what was happening.

Stupid girl, you're going to regret this.

You scolded yourself.

"Help.. over here!"
The voice whisper-yelled.

"Y/n."
You were caught off guard by Lucifer's tall figure appearing abruptly behind you and jumped a little.

"Stop right there, you will go no further. that is not a place for humans, it's dangerous."
Lucifer warned while taking slow steps up the stairs,
"Go back to your room."

You were tired of all this strange things happening to you and you didn't even have a say. The least you could do now was try to understand what was happening.

"Why?"

Lucifer narrowed his red eyes at you,
"I just told you why. It's dangerous for humans. This is Devildom, there are certain rules to be followed here."

You wanted to tell him there was a voice you heard upstairs but you held back.

So you silently nodded and went back to you're room, of course Lucifer escorted you, couldn't have you wondering back there could he?

The voice that pleaded for help had been stuck in your head for days.

You ended up returning to those stairs everytime you found it hard to sleep and everytime you did, Lucifer was there to stop you.
Almost as if he was waiting for you.

Is this some boss fight shit i need to clear to ascend?

So once again, you were there at the spiral staircase.

43 and....

"What's going on again y/n? Out for a stroll?"

Yup, the 44th step of the stairs triggers him.

"I keep running to you here don't i?
It seems you are really curious about what's on top of these stairs."
Lucifer said,
"Unless i am mistaken, i did tell you that this not a place humans should have any business in. If you'd like i could make you some tea, a tea that will make sure you have a good night's sleep. But I'll have to warn you it is too effective on humans, so much so you may never wake up again."
