Leviathan's room was still empty like before. Aside from the sea life in his built-in wall aquarium, there was no other signs of life.
"Is there anything you find interesting?"
Lucifer strode up to you, arms folded.
"His monitor."
You pointed at the rectangular screen that flashed a scene that looked like a main menu of a computer game.
With a disgruntled noise, the first born walked up to his brother's desk,
"I don't believe it. He left it running again. What am i going to do with him?"
His hand came to a halt before his finger could press the power button.
Could it have been intentional?
A frown etched itself on his face again,
"He mentioned something about a new game arriving from Akuzon, didn't he?"
Lucifer looked back at you.
Your eyes flickered from the screen to his, then to the disc casing on Levi's desk. Turning the disc around, the both of you glanced through the game description.
"A cursed house with an ominous past... everyone starts to disappear...can you handle the fear?"
A scoff came out of both your mouths for completely different reasons.
How foolish. It describes the exact situation we are in right now.
Lucifer shook his head.
Why does Levi -or anyone, for that matter, like to dabble in cursed immersive games like this?
You sighed.
"Leviathan has a strange habit of going out and buying these strange games... now look what it's gotten us in."
The first born said, as if answering the question in your mind.
"You don't say..."
You trailed off, recalling back to that weird dating sim you got sucked in for Satan and Lucifer's reconciliation.
Lucifer narrowed his eyes at the monitor, and you raised a brow at the disc case.
There was only one true way to end this bizarre situation;
Win The Game.
------------------------☆---------------------------
You could practically hear the logs at the chimney crackling and turning to ashes in the silence.
Your eyes darted around the room nervously, unable to look straight. Lucifer sat on the sofa directly across you, looking down at the carpeted floors of the living room.
This was awkward.
Apparently, to end this awful game, one has to defeat the final boss, 'Lucifer'.
"They must think they're really funny naming the boss that."
The first born fumed at the naming convention after searching up the game guide.
Another ending... consisted of you being on a romantic date with said 'Lucifer'.
"So it comes down to this,"
Two fingers placed themselves on the bridge of his nose.
"You have to defeat me or fall in love with me."
Lucifer couldn't believe what he was even saying, oh the things he would do to his foolish brothers once this was over.
There was no way you could do either of the game tasks.
You almost lost your life the last time, and now you were going to risk it all to lose it for real? Absolutely not.
Falling in love was out of question for you.
But Lucifer seemed to have different views,
"Falling in love seems to be the only option."
He said after contemplating for a while. If you tried defeating him and he ended up retaliating out of reflex, you could really end up dead. He would never be able to face Diavolo or anyone else if it happened.
After all, things were different now. You had been an important individual who made his reconciliation with Satan successful. You weren't half as incompetent as he had painted you to be in the first few months.
