Gianna West is a 16 year old girl, trying to find her place in the world. She is the number 1 soccer player in the state, which gains her unwanted popularity. Gianna would much rather just play the sport she loves, and not have anyone know who she is. She is an open lesbian, with her parents supporting her. Even though Gianna is popular, she doesn't have any "real friends". They all are just around her for her popularity, except for Queen Bee Karen Beasley. Karen hates Gianna, basically for being gay. Gianna doesn't really care, but Karen starts making her life a living hell.
