Chapter 10

[Detention]

Ah yes, detention, don't ya love it? The disciplinary committee gave us two weeks of detention as punishment, which honestly was lucky but it still sucks. At least it is the last day of detention, hallelujah. Here I am sitting with the other girls, doing some homework when Imogen's phone rings. She quickly silents it, "No phones in detention" The librarian says

Imogen stands up, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Murray, but...it's my doctor. I have to take this" She says

Then she walks out and we continue doing our work. After detention, we all walk outside, "Thank god that's over" Faran says
"No shit. Two weeks of detention is nothing after juvie but...still" Noa says

"It was lucky. We were lucky" Tabby says

"So, what happens now?" Mouse asks

"What do you mean? I go back to Swan Lake" Faran says
"And I go back to training, counting the minutes till my ankle monitor comes off" Noa says

"And I go back to soccer, after I basically begged the coach to let me back on the team" I say

"Are you asking about...A Mouse?" Imogen asks

"It's been two weeks without any psychotic messages. Maybe he's moved on?" Tabby suggest

"What about...our moms? Are we ever gonna tell them what happened to Karen? Or to us?" Mouse asks

"No, we need to know more about what really happened with Angela Waters. It's...weird. I've been putting out calls but no one wants to talk about her. It's like she's a ghost or an urban legend" Imogen says

"And you still think Angela Waters is somehow connected to A?" Tabby asks

"All our moms knew her and we're their daughters. There must be a reason A is targeting us" Imogen says

"And the mystery continues. Good luck with that" Faran says

"Crap, I have to go back. I forgot to get something from the A/V room. You guys go ahead. It might take me a minute" Tabby says

We nod our heads as we all walk away.

[Friday]

I'm practicing on the field, trying to get back in shape after being benched. I start off with some drills, working on footwork. Then I start doing shooting drills, which I nail. Then I start doing sprints, up and down the field.

After doing those for a little bit, I stop catching my breath. When I look up I see Noa, staring at me. I smile, before giving her a little wave. She snaps out of her daze and focuses back on the track, before she starts running. I decide I'm done for today so as I'm packing up, I see Noa is done running and talking to her coach.

I smile, I'm glad she's back doing what she loves. I grab my stuff, as I am doing that I feel eyes burning into my head. I glance up and see Shawn is staring daggers at me. I roll my eyes before grabbing my bag and leaving.

[Monday]

I'm at lunch with the girls, sitting next to Noa of course, who is sitting on the table. May I say, she looks ridiculously hot right now. I mean I didn't think she could get any hotter, but she proves me wrong, time and time again. Faran is on my other side along with Mouse and Imogen. Tabby is across from us, telling us about her film assignment, "Basically, it's a contemporary feminist take on the shower scene from Psycho" Tabby says

We chuckle, "So, who's down to be my modern-day Marion Crane?" She asks

She looks at Imogen, "Baby on board. Plus, your mom's actual gonna murder me if I don't finish going through all the stuff at my house" Imogen says

"Fair...Mouse?" Tabby asks

"This might be a good time to tell you that I don't really like horror movies. Sorry" Mouse says

"Also fair" Tabby says

She looks at Noa, "Noa!"
"When and where are you filming?" Noa asks

"The boys' locker room. It's part of my concept" Tabby says

"Principal Clanton gave you permission to do that?" Mouse asks

"Nope. We're gonna have to do it at night and break in" Tabby says

"Oh, a little B&E right before getting my monitor off?" Noa asks

Tabby looks at me as Noa leans closer to me, "Oh...um...I'd love to help but I just got back on the team and if we get caught..." I say

Tabby nods, "Understandable" She says

Then she looks at Faran, "And then there was one...Faran?" Tabby asks

"If I agreed...who's the guy I'd be killing?" Faran asks

"What about your ballet hottie?" Tabby asks

"Henry? He's actually someone I could see myself dating, so I'd rather not stab him to death. No" Faran says

"Okay. Well...this short is really, really important to me. I have to get it right. So, I need a guy who isn't shy, someone who won't balk at being objectified" Tabby says

Then we hear, "The legend is back!"
It's Greg, ughh, "Someone like?" Imogen asks

We all turn around, "Well, he's definitely done grieving" Tabby says
