The girls and I are at school sitting at lunch. Imogen, Tabby and I are telling them about Chip, "Holy shit. Are you guys okay?" Faran asks
I'm sitting next to Noa, her hand intertwined with mine, "Where's Chip now?" Noa asks
We look at her, "I have a bat and it's calling his name" She says angry
I squeeze her hand to calm her down, "A is back...officially" Tabby says
"Oh my god, what?" Faran asks
"I thought he was dead" Mouse says
"He showed up at the Orpheum as Gia was..." Tabby trails off
"Beating the living crap out of Chip" I finish her thought
"He took off after him" Tabby continues
"Good. I hope A caught his ass" Faran says
"Yeah, now if we could only get A to knock on Sheriff Beasley's door" Noa says
"Well, we did tell A that Sheriff Beasley raped Angela" Tabby says
"Speaking of Sheriff Psycho...I had a clandestine meeting with Kelly last night. She and Mrs Beasley are both on lockdown until after Christmas break" Faran says
"No, fuck this. We need to go to the D.A. or the national guard or some shit" Noa says
I squeeze her hand, "Take a breath, love" I whisper
"Love?" Faran asks
I guess I didn't whisper quiet enough, "Uhh..." I say
I look at Noa and she nods her head. She squeezes my hand before placing them on the table for the girls to see, "Gianna's my girlfriend" Noa says proudly
"What?!" Faran asks excited
"When did this happen?" Mouse asks intrigued
"Last night after..." I trail off
"I'm so happy for you guys" Imogen says
"Yeah, something good came out of all of this" Tabby says
I kiss Noa's cheek before she rests her head on my shoulder. Then all of the sudden, "You son of a bitch!"
We turn to see Shawn making his way over to us. I instinctively put my arm out in front of Noa, "You dumped me for this dyke bitch?!" He exclaims
"Shawn what the hell are you doing?" Noa asks
He gets closer, "You dumped me for this?!" He points to me, "That?!"
I see everyone in the cafeteria eyes are on us. I stand up before he can get too close to Noa, "I suggest you back the fuck up" I tell him
He looks at me, "What are you going to do? Huh?" He asks smugly
I take a step closer, not backing down, "Talk to my girlfriend like that again and you'll find out" I say through gritted teeth
He laughs, "You won't do shit" He looks at Noa, "I can't believe you left me for this bitch" He says
"Don't talk about my girlfriend like that, Shawn!" Noa yells
"Shawn, I suggest you leave right now before I kick your ass" I tell him sternly
He shakes his head, "Kick my ass? Really? I could knock you out with one punch" He says smugly
"Give it your best shot" I urge him
He smirks before I see him turn. I know he's going to punch me so I make sure Noa is out of the way before he turns back and lands a punch across my cheek. I look back up at him and rub my cheek slightly, "That all you got?" I ask
I can tell he looks shocked that I'm still standing. I can see the anger in his eyes and he winds up again but I smirk and beat him to the punch. Literally. I land a punch across his jaw, sending him stumbling back into another table.
"Shawn, quit while you're ahead" I say
I can tell he's not going to as he lunges at me, connecting a right hook but it doesn't slow me down as I grab his arm and flip him over, causing him to land on the ground. I stand over him, "I can do this all day, Shawn"
He looks embarrassed that he got beat by a girl, "You're a bitch! So is Noa!" He shouts as he stands up
I walk over to him and grab him by the collar, "Talk about my girlfriend like that again, and I'll destroy you!" I shout
I push him away, "Now get your ass out of here!" I yell
He brushes himself off before he walks out. As he does, I hear clapping, I look around and the kids are clapping, "Okay, shows over" I say
I walk back over to Noa, "Are you okay?" She asks worried
I grab her hands, "Yeah, I'm okay love" I assure her
She pulls me into a tight hug, "That was stupid, you could have gotten seriously hurt" She mumbles against my neck
"I wasn't going to let him disrespect you. He needed to know what would happen if he did" I tell her
She pulls back slightly, "Thank you for protecting me, but don't get hurt again. I can't lose you" She says
I place a soft kiss on her lips, "I'lll always protect you, love. And you'll never lose me, I promise" I reassure her
I wrap my arm around her as we sit back down at the cafeteria table, "That was badass" Imogen says
"Are you okay, though?" Mouse asks
I nod my head, "I liked the Captain America reference" Tabby says
We laugh, "Thanks Tabs" I say
"Shawn definitely deserved to get his ass kicked" Faran says
I nod my head as I pull Noa into me and she lays her head on my shoulder. I kiss the top of her head as we sit there. But after a few seconds, all our phones buzz. Noa sits up as we all grab our phones, "Oh my god, it's from A" Imogen says
"Your final round is about to begin. You broke our rule" I read
"Okay, how does A always know what we're talking about? Does he have the school bugged?" Mouse asks
"And what rule?" Tabby asks
"Shit. A knows what I told Kelly" Faran says
"So, this isn't over" Noa says
"Nope. But at least we know now that Sheriff Beasley is the one that hurt Angela" Imogen says
"Though that still doesn't explain how our moms are involved in all of this" Mouse says
"And if A is punishing the guilty for what they did to Angela Waters, wouldn't Sheriff Beasley be the guiltiest of them all?" Noa asks
"Someone must be guiltier. Who's left? Who else can talk to us about Angela who can give us some insight?" Imogen asks
"Steppenwolves, may I have your attention, please? Significant amounts of lead paint have been discovered in Millwood High..." Principal Clanton says over the PA system
"Jesus, just when you thought this school could not get any worse" Noa says
"This place is a death trap" I say
"If these walls could talk" Tabby says
"...safe for your return in the new year" He says
"That's it. It's not who can tell us more about Angela but what. The Waters house" Imogen says
"We have to go back, search it for real" Tabby says
"For what?" Noa asks
"Anything that might help us understand how these pieces fit together" Imogen says
