I'm sitting in my room when I get a message from Faran, "We have to meet. NOW" It reads
I quickly drive to Pinball Pizza and Faran tells us everything she found out, "Oh my god" Tabby says
"Holy shit" I say
"So, Sheriff Beasley raped Angela?" Noa asks
"I also learned something about Sheriff Beasley. That he and my mom dated in high school" Imogen says
We look at her with wide eyes, "Also...someone dug up my mom's body" She says
"Who would do that?" Mouse asks
"My guess. Maybe Sheriff Beasley" Imogen says
"Wait, your mom and Sheriff Beasley?" Tabby asks
"Do you guys think Sheriff Beasley could be A? Maybe he killed my mom to keep her quiet because she knew what he did to Angela" Imogen says
"I definitely think he should remain a suspect" Faran says
"I thought A was the train car guy" Noa says
"Imogen, if your mom and Sheriff Beasley were together and he attacked Angela, that's our connection. Even if he's not A" Tabby says
"Yeah, our moms had to have known" I say
"Why didn't they say anything?" Faran asks
"That is the question" Imogen says
"We need to try again but split them up so they don't see it coming" Noa says
"Truth time" Imogen says
"Take two" Tabby says

I make my way home, "Mom?!" I shout
"In the living room!" She yells back
I make my way in, "We need to talk, now. The whole truth this time" I say sternly
She looks at me as she sits on the couch and I stand in front of her, "After everything we talked about, how could you not tell us that Imogen's mom dated Sheriff Beasley" I say
"We all had a lot of boyfriends, we were popular" She says
"But why not tell us?" I ask
"Davie only dated Tom Beasley for a few weeks, fall of senior year" She says
"Okay, but did you know Sheriff Beasley was the guy who raped Angela, mom?" I ask
She looks shocked, "That was a rumor. Never confirmed" She says
I know she's lying, "It's a simple question mom. Did Sheriff Beasley rape Angela Waters or not?" I ask
She doesn't answer, "Did he or did he not?" I ask getting annoyed
She sighs, "That's what Angela said" She says
"Did this happen before, during, or after Imogen's mom dated him?" I ask
"They broke up right after Davie heard the rumors" She says
"Mom, how could you?" I ask
Before she can answer, my phone buzzes with a text from Tabby, "Can you come over? I have something on the guy" It reads
I look at my mom, "I have to go but this isn't over" I say sternly before I grab my keys
[Tabby's House]
I knock on the door and Sidney opens it, "Come on in" She says
I nod my head, "Thank you" I say
"They're upstairs" She says
I nod my head before heading up, "Tabby?" I ask
She opens the door, "Hey Gia come in" She says
I do and see Imogen siting there as well. I sit down on the bed and Tabby explains what she knows, "Oh my god, Tabby. Chip?" Imogen asks upset
"I didn't want to say anything...in front of the other girls" Tabby says
"But h-he's one of your...your best friends. And we-we've..." Imogen says
"It's so fucking twisted but it adds up. Chip was close by on both nights we were attacked. Same for Gia. Also...now that the idea is in my head, I can't shake the feeling that it was Chip. I mean, it's all circumstantial evidence, but...." Tabby says
"But there might be some real evidence. Maybe, possibly" Imogen says
"What do you mean?" I ask
"When I woke up that morning on the beach after it happened...I didn't have my underwear. If it was Chip...could he have taken them? Kept them, for some reason, as a...souvenir?" Imogen asks
"Chip's working late tonight at the Orpheum" Tabby says
"Can we get into his house?" I ask
Tabby nods her head, "Then let's go nail this bastard" I say
[Chip's House]
We knock on the door and his mom opens it, "Hi Mrs. Langsberry" Tabby and Imogen say
"I'm so sorry, girls. Chip's at the movie theater working" Mrs. Langsberry says
"Oh shoot. Uh, we were hoping he might want to hang out" Imogen says
"But now that we're here, Chip did say I could use his super-eight for my short. Would it be okay if we grab it?" Tabby asks
"Of course. You know the way. Good luck finding it down there. It's a sty" She says
They walk in and I walk in after them, "I'm sorry, I don't recognize you" Mrs. Langsberry says
"Oh, I'm Gianna West, Chip's a classmate of mine. I'm their chauffeur" I say dangling my keys
She laughs, "Oh, I recognize the name, Chip's talked about you" She says
I try my best to stay calm and not seem tense, "All good things I hope" I joke
She smiles, "Absolutely" She says
I follow the girls down, and we start searching for any evidence we can find. After a bit, Tabby brings out a crate full of DVDs, "More movies?" Imogen asks
"Yeah, but...weird, gross ones" Tabby says
"Oh my god, are they porn?" I ask
Imogen and I walk over and sit down across from her, "No, they're horror movies. Hardcore...rapey horror movies. They were hidden in the back of Chip's closet" She says
She hands us some, "Like a dirty, little secret, but otherwise...no evidence. Fuck. Tabby, your feeling...How sure about it are you?" Imogen asks
"Sickeningly sure" Tabby says
"So, let's see how guilty Chip feels about what he did" Imogen says
