Chapter 27

[Hospital]

We rushed Imogen to the hospital, "Gi you need to get checked out too" Noa says

"I'm fine love" I say

"For me, please?" She asks

"Okay" I say

A doctor comes over and starts to take me back, "I'm coming too" Noa says
"Sorry, only family can" He says

"But I'm her girlfriend" Noa argues

I look behind her and see the moms shocked faces, but mine is smiling. My mom walks over to us, "Dr....Thompson is it? I'm Andrea West, Gianna's mother. My husband actually works here, Dr. Elijah West. Would you like me to go get him?" She asks

He looks terrified before he shakes his head, "No ma'am"

"Then I suggest you let Noa go back with my daughter" She tells him

He nods his head, "Okay, follow me" He says

I look at my mom with a grateful smile, "Thank you" I mouth

She nods her head before we are led back to a room. He checks out my cuts and bruises on my ribs as well as my bruised hand. He orders x-rays for my hand and ribs. After they are done, the doctor comes back to wrap my ribs and cast my hand. I have 3 broken ribs and a broken hand but luckily no concussion.

After he's done, he leaves giving me and Noa some time alone before we head back to the others. She is holding my hand, rubbing circles with her thumb, "I'm okay, love, I promise" I say

"You could've gotten yourself killed" She whispers

I move my hand to her chin to make her look at me. I cup her face and caress her cheek, "I wasn't going to let anything happen to you, Noa. I—" I start to say but stop

"Say it" She whispers

"I love you, Noa Olivar" I say

She smiles, "I love you too, Gianna West" She says

She closes the gap between us in a sweet kiss. When we pull apart, I pull her into a tight hug. After a few minutes, we head back out to everyone. I see Noa's mom giving me a look, I guess Noa saw it too. She grabbed my non-injured hand and walks us over to her mom, "Mom..." She starts

She looks at me, "Noa, are you two—?" She starts to ask

"Yes mom, Gianna is my girlfriend, do you have a problem with that?" Noa asks

Marjorie stands up, I get nervous for a second, "No I don't" She says before she pulls me into a hug

"Thank you for protecting my daughter" She whispers

"I always will" I whisper back

She pulls away, "You picked a good one, Noa" Her mom says

Noa pulls me close to her, "I know" She says

[Cemetery: Few days later]

The girls and I go find Imogen at her mom's grave with her baby girl, "You okay?" Faran asks helping her stand back up

"I know who my mom was in high school. But I also know who she became. And which version of her I'm gonna hold in my heart for the rest of my life. Come here" She says

We all hug each other, in a group hug.

[Christmas]

It's Christmas night, everyone is over Tabby's house. Kelly, Greg, our moms even Kelly's mom, my dad, Faran's dad, Henry, Ash. We are all in the Christmas spirit even after the events that happened a few weeks prior.
