Chapter 17

After we got the text, we quickly make our way into the bathroom, "I knew it. I fucking knew it" Tabby says

"Check the stalls" Faran says

Noa does, "It's just us" She says

"A killed Tyler. A killed Tyler" Tabby repeats

"Okay, now can we please go to the police?" Mouse asks

"No!" Tabby and Imogen say

"A warned us not to say anything. Fine. But can't we just send that pic of dead Tyler to the Sheriff anonymously?" Faran asks
"A texted it to us. You don't think he'll know how the cops got it?" Tabby asks

"What the fuck can we do?" Noa asks freaking out

I place my hand other shoulder, trying to calm her down, "We take deep breaths...and don't freak out" I say

"A's killed two people, probably more" Mouse says
"Horrible people" Faran says

We all look at her, "Just sayin" She says

"To paraphrase Heathers, Our teen angst now has a body count" Tabby says

"A is tied to Angela Waters. We figure out what happened to her, we figure out who A is and how to stop him. Back to the basics. The seventh signature from the Radley, who does that belong to?" Imogen says

"You think it's A?" Mouse asks

"It's a definite possibility. And then there's Angela's mother, Rose. She's out there somewhere" Imogen says
"And then there was the assault that happened to Angela" I say

I look at Tabby and Imogen and they both shake their heads, "You guys...there's something that umm...I need to tell you and so do Tabby and Imogen that happened to us that may or may not be related to A" I say

"But can we maybe take this outside?" Imogen asks

We sit on the bleachers, "Gia you can tell them what happened to you first" Tabby says

I nod my head, "Okay...umm...The night of Karen's party, I was there. My teammates dragged me to the party. But since I don't drink, I was just standing there, bored out of my mind. I don't remember who, but some guy...he gave me a shot and I took it cause I wanted to have some fun. You know, be a regular teenager for once" I say

They look at me, urging me to continue, "After a little bit, I started to feel weird. My head was getting fuzzy and my vision was blurry. I stumbled out of the party before I fell to the ground. I-I saw a shadowy figure before I blacked out. The next thing I remember...I'm back in my room with blood all over my face from the cuts and I had broken ribs...I don't think I was sexually assaulted...because I was still in my clothes, nothing was torn or missing...but I don't really know" I say as I feel tears form

I look down, trying to not cry. I feel a hand intertwine with mine. I look up to see Noa, with tears in her eyes, "I'm so sorry, but you're safe now. I got you" She says

I nod my head, "T-Thank...you" I choke out

Then Imogen and Tabby tell them about what happened to them, "Imogen, Tabby, I am so, so sorry that happened to you" Faran says

"We all are, and...we're here for you" Noa says

"Whatever you need" Mouse looks at me, "All of you"

"It happened to all three of us after parties. Jock-centric parties" Imogen says

"You think it was one of the football players?" Noa asks

"Maybe" Tabby says

"Is that how you got pregnant?" Mouse asks

Imogen nods her head, "We don't know if something that connects us to Angela. But Tabby has a plan. To catch whoever did this to us, to stop him from doing it again" Imogen says

"Nurse Simons is having a blood drive, next Wednesday. If we can collect blood samples from the boys in school we can compare it to DNA from Imogen's baby" Tabby says

"Noa, your mom's a nurse, right? We're hoping she can help figure out the DNA part" Imogen says

"I can talk to her, for sure" Noa says

"And if we can get proof, real proof, then we can go to the authorities and they wouldn't be able to ignore or dismiss us" Tabby says

"I'll also talk to Shawn" Noa says

I try not to let that get to me as Noa mentions him while she's holding my hand, "And Kelly volunteers in the nurse's office. She's gotta be working the blood drive. Maybe she can help us all get involved" Imogen says
"What about A?" Faran asks

"And those signatures?" Mouse asks

"Tabby and I are gonna go back to see Crazy Joe" Imogen says
"The train car guy?" Faran asks

"He's the one who sent us to the Radley in the first place. He's the clearest line to the seventh signature" Imogen says

"Be safe" I say

They nod their heads as we all head our separate ways. I make my way to my car but before I can get in, I hear, "Gi, wait"

I turn and see Noa making her way over to me, "Noa..." I start to say

Before I can finish, she pulls me into a hug. Her arms are wrapped around my neck as I wrap my arms around her waist, "I'm so sorry you went through that" She whispers

"Thank you, I'm okay" I say

She pulls away slightly to look at me, "You don't have to pretend with me, Gi" She whispers

I feel tears forming but I try to push them back, "I don't want to burden you..." I say

I look away from her, "Hey..." She says

She moves her hand under my chin to make me look at her, "You are not a burden, Gianna West. You can let me in" She says softly

I nod my head, "I try to act like everything's okay but I-I'm scared...I'm constantly looking over my shoulder...scared that he might try again...I don't know who to trust...I-I..." I struggle to say as tears fall

She pulls me into a tight hug and rubs my back calming me down, "Shh...it's okay...You're safe, he can't hurt you again. You can trust me Gi" She whispers

We stand like that for a few minutes while I calm down. Once I do, we pull away, "Thank you Noa, you have no idea how much that means to me" I say

She gives me a smile, "I'm here for you Gi, whenever you need me" She says

I smile, "Do you need a ride home?" I ask

"It's okay I can walk" She says

"Oh no, that's not happening it's freezing out here" I say

I grab my keys out of my pocket before walking over to the passenger side, "What are you doing?" She asks

I throw the keys over to her which she catches, "You're letting me drive?!" She exclaims

I nod my head, "Hop in" I say

She squeals excitedly before she gets in the drivers seat and starts driving back to her apartment complex. We drive in a comfortable silence, the only noise is the soft radio music in the background.

Once we pull up to the complex, she parks and we both get out. She pulls me into another hug, "Thank you" I whisper

When we pull away, "Always" She whispers back

We smile before I wait for her to walk inside before getting back in my car and leave.
