The sun was beginning to set over the majestic forests of Kashmirpur, casting a warm golden glow through the dense treetops. Shankaraatrishn pushed through the thick undergrowth.

With each step, the crunch of fallen leaves echoed his urgency. His long, disheveled hair danced in the gentle breeze as he scanned the surroundings with sunken eyes. The foliage seemed swallowed him whole, guiding his path deeper into the wilderness.

Tired and frustrated, he closed his eyes with a gulp, believing he has to summon the pishachini once again to guide his way.

"Kaha milega woh Shan-" "Theher jaao."

Shankaraatrishn opened his eyes, and saw a man in front of him, dressed in deer skin, with hair tied in half bun. He seemed to be around his age, but looked more youthful. An outworldly glow was adorning his face.

"Karn-pishachini ki sahayata lene se badi anhoniya ho sakti hai." He said in a calm yet concerned voice.

Shankaraatrishn looked at the man up and down, confused as to how the man was able to tell that he was about to take help from a Karn-pishachini

Shankaraatrishn looked at the man up and down, confused as to how the man was able to tell that he was about to take help from a Karn-pishachini. The tantrik knew in an instant that the one in front of him was a proficient Sadhak, little did he know that the man was Shankaraakshya himself, the one he was looking for.

"Tum yaha ke nahi lagte. Kya tum koi Asur ho ?" Shankaraakshya asked looking at him up and down.

"Nahi. Manushya hu." Shankaraatrishn said, "Kya tum koi divya manushya ho ?" He asked observing his aura.

"Nahi." Shankaraakshya smiled, "Mai toh Asur hu."

"Oh." A frown appeared on the face of Shankaraatrishn as he stared at him.

"Tum yaha ke nahi lagte. Kaha se ho tum ?" He asked.

"Uttar Bharat se hu. Vang rajya se. Yaha Shankaraakshya namak ek vyakti ke khoj mei aya hu." Shankaraatrishn said.

"Mai hi Shankaraakshya hu. Ishwar ki kripa dekho." Shankaraakshya said with a smile.

Shankaraatrishn's eyes widened, and for a fleeting moment, time stood still as he gazed upon the man before him.

"Toh tum hi woh ho..... Jisko Maa ne darshan aur vardaan diya tha." He muttered.

"Ha, mai hi woh hu." Shankaraakshya said.

"K-Kaisi dikhti hai woh ?" Shankaraatrishn couldn't help but ask.

A smile appeared on the face of Shankaraakshya, as he closed his eyes, revelling in the bliss of the moment where Amarsri had appeared before him.

"Batao na, kaisi dikhti hai woh ?" Shankaraatrishn asked impatiently.

"Sundar. Saumya. Shaant." Shankaraakshya said and then opened his eyes.

And so the admiration gave way to an insidious jealousy that gnawed at Shankaraatrishn's soul, seeing how Shankaraakshya possessed an otherworldly tranquility, radiating a pure, untainted energy that had grown within him like a blossoming lotus.

"Asur ko darshan de sakti hai.... Kintu... Kintu manushya ko nahi...." Shankaraatrishn said with clenched fists.

In the depths of his heart, the longing for such divinity grew, overshadowing the initial awe he felt. A spark of envy ignited within him, fueled by the realization that an Asur possessed what he himself had yearned for his entire life.

"Maa manushya aur asuro mei bhed nahi karti." Shankaraakshya said.

"Yadi bhed nahi karti, toh mujhe darshan kyu nahi diye ?! Tumhare jaise, maine bhi toh 20 varsho tak upasna ki hai unki." Shankaraatrishn said.

"Maa ke virudh ek shabd nahi !" Shankaraakshya said firmly, "Tumhari pravritti ke karan unhone darshan nahi diya. Tamsik kriyaye toh tumne karli kintu swayam par uska prabhaav tum sambhaal nahi paa rahe ho. Meri maano toh tumhe inn sabko chhod dena chahiye. Tumhari hi bhalai hogi isme, mere bhai." He said.

"Mujhe mat sikhao ki kya karna hai. Mujhe tumse keval tumhare anushthaan ki vidhi chahiye. Dena hai toh do, anyatha tumhare saath bhalai nahi hogi, mere bhai." Shankaraatrishn said in a mocking tone.

Shankaraakshya chuckled, "Mrityu ka bhaye kise dikha rahe ho ? Jisko agle janm mei Amarsri ke putra banne ka vardaan praapt hai ? Mai toh prati din mrityu ki pratiksha karta hu."

"Tum anushthaan ki vidhi dete ho ki nahi !?" Shankaraatrishn exclaimed, losing his patience.

"Le lo. Parantu jab tak indriyo par niyantran nahi karoge, tab tak kuch sidh nahi kar paaoge." Shankaraakshya said.

He then took out a scroll, that was tied around his waist, which carried every single day with him to still perform the ritual, now to gain more merits.

"Mujhe toh sabhi vidhi aur mantra kanthast hai. Ab mujhe iski koi awashyakta nahi." Shankaraakshya said as he handed the scroll to Shankaraatrishn.

Ek vardaan ke liye anushthaan kiya,
Ek keval darshan paane ke liye.
Ek shaant hai, dusra ugra.
Ek saatvik upasak hai, dusra tamsik upasak.
Ek santoshi hai, dusra irsha se bhara huya.
Ek Asur hoke bhi dev manush lagta hai, aur dusra manushya hoke bhi Asur.

Lekin mantavya dono ka Amarsri ka sanidhya pana hai ✨
