Aachaandit stood in shock, as he looked up at the sky seeing it plastered with the name of Amarsri, twinkling till where the eyes could see. It was a breathtaking sight.
It made him reflect upon what he saw today. Each divine couple whether it be Lakshmi Narayan, Saraswati Brahma, Sachi Indra, or Amarsri Srinav, all showcased a unique bond, highlighted by mutual respect, adoration, and a palpable sense of equality.
These gods, believed to be the highest forms of existence, cherished their wives as more than mere decorations or possessions. Instead, they saw them as valued companions, confidantes, and intellectual equals.
A confused frown etched itself upon his face as he saw Srinav's gently wiping away her tears, leaving only a faint glow of love that lingered upon her cheeks.
"Mere itne kehne ke baad bhi.... Yeh samjhe nahi ?" Aachaandit asked Narad Muni.
"Kyuki tumhari drishti keval ek paripekshya se sab kuch dekha aur samjha hai." Said Srinav in a firm voice, as he stood up.
He walked towards Aachaandit, holding the hand of Amarsri.
Srinav gazed assuringly at his wife before addressing the sage, "Sampurn jagat jis Vaikunth mei vaas karna chaahta hai, Devi Amarsri ka janm aur palan wahi huya tha. Kintu inhone woh Vaikunth chhoda keval mere saath apna dampatya sansaar basane ko."
"Kya-" Aachandit's lips parted slightly.
"Ha Samudramanthan ke poorv Devi ne mere prem par prashn uthaya tha, kintu kya fir unhone paschataap nahi kiya tha ?" Srinav said, "Ha Rishi agastya ka shraap mujhe mila tha ki manushya roop mei prithvi par vicharan karu. Kintu mai toh sab bhul gaya tha, smaran toh sab Amarsri ko tha. Tapasya toh inhone ki thi, mujhe apne smiritiya wapas dene ko."
Srinav paused momentarily, before asking, "Kya tumne kabhi tapasya ki hai ?"
"Ha. 10 varsh. Keval patto ko apna aahaar banaya tha." Aachaandit said.
"Vidyashree ne 7000 varsho tak tapasya ki thi, keval vayu ko apna aahaar maan ke." Srinav said.
The eyes of Aachaandit widened slightly, as he looked at Amarsri, his beliefs shaking.
"Samast sansaar jis Shri Ram ke charno ki dhul banna chaahta hai, yeh uss Raghukul bhushan ki putri thi. Kintu mere ek kehne par inhone muskurate huye woh deh ko agni mei bhasm kar diya, jiska rishta Shri Ram se tha !" Srinav said.
He looked at Amarsri, her teary eyes met his, and within them, a myriad of emotions intermingled. Gratitude, relief, and overwhelming love cascaded through her being. In that single moment, his eyes mirrored her own teared eyes, as he recounted her sacrifices which had been unjustly overlooked.
With a sad sigh, Srinav continued, "Aur tum kehte ho ki inhe prem nahi ? Inki nishtha mere prati nahi ? Satya toh yeh hai Aachaandit, mai inke sagar-roopi prem ka hrini hu. Ab yadi iss prem ke prati kritagyata dikhana, iss prem ko lautane ka prayas karne ke karan, mujhe yeh sansaar patni ka daas samajhta hai toh samjhe. Mai toh swayam ko inka daas maanta hu."
For the first time, Aachaandit was questioning his own beliefs. The sage could not help but feel an inner turmoil, a dissonance brewing deep within him.
"Narayan-Narayan !" Devarshi smiled, "Stree ke charitra ko samajhna kathin hai. Kintu kathin toh Parambrahma ko jaanna bhi hai. Isse woh galat toh nahi ho jata na ?"
"Tumhare man mei aise anarya vichaar aaye bhi kaha se Aachaandit ?" Srinsav said.
A sigh escaped the lips of the sage, "Jab se meri tapasya tuti." He told.
"Padmaprabha namak ek apsara ne Devendra ke kehne par meri tapasya Tod di thi. Mujhe usne apne kaam ke moh mei jakad liya tha, apne roop ka daas bana liya tha. Kintu jab maine pranaye nivedan kiya, toh usne mana kar diya." Aachaandit said, the words of that apsara rang in his ears, still loud and clear.

."Streeya sadev kaamasakt purusho ka tyaag karti hai. Meri varmala ka adhikaari woh hoga, jo kaam ke sabhi vikaaro se mukt hoga. Tum jaisa deh-premi nahi."

.
."Mujhe laga sabhi Streeyo ka charitra aisa hai. Jo purusho ko kamasakt kar unhe path-bhraant kar deti hai.... Kintu ab lagta hai ki mai hi galat tha." Aachaandit said with lowered.
He then looked at Amarsri and joined his hands, his gaze lowering itself with shame.
"Kshama kare Devi. Aur ek kripa kare." Aachaandit said.
"Kaisi kripa ?" Amarsri asked.
"Mujhe yeh abhaas toh ho gaya hai ki mai galat tha. Parantu ab stree aur purush ka satya kya hai... Yeh jaanne ki meri iccha hai." He said.
Amarsri smiled, "Mahadev se yeh prashn karo."
