Chapter eight

The deafening silence between us is killing all of us. My cousins are up to the after party after the wedding, while I am here, sitting next to my parents who are now looking at me. I am not waving my eyes to them but I can feel it. There is something that they want to know.

I took a couple of deep breaths, releasing the negative feeling that I had before I stared back at them.

Papa has pleading eyes while Dad is different. His expression is so stoic that I don't even know why.

"It was nothing. We were both adults and I don't see any wrong with that," before we got here, they witnessed how dirty and messy I was with my roommate and they wanted to hear any explanation for that.

My phone beeped and I secretly took it from my pocket, only to see a thing that gave me chills.

"Pa, I'll just talk to my client about the cake I'll make." I tried to act normal and it was my move to not add the negative assumptions of my parents to our relationship.

My instinct is right. I couldn't play the clip in front of my parents and act like nothing was happening.
