Edward's pov.

"She laughed" I said as Vanni and I made pancakes together.

"Yeah, it was cute seeing her face light up like that" Vanni said making me nod. Nothing else was said between us as we made Miss Raven's breakfast as both of us were lost in our own thoughts.

I didn't know what to think nor what to make of this entire situation but I did know that I wanted to see her laugh again. I don't know why, I don't know how but I felt like being the reason she laughed everyday, I feel the exact same way whenever Vanni laughs.

"You okay?" Vanni asked with his hand on my back

"I don't know, maybe" I replied but he looked so concerned that it made me smile
"I'm okay, just confused"

"Anything I can help with?"

"Right now, no, but I'll let you know when I get my answer" I said making him nod and plate the last pancake before we put all the dirty utensils in the dishwasher and joined the two ladies

"Is he dead?" Miss Grant asked her friend as we walked in

"Not yet" Miss Raven responded then smiled at the food in Vanni's hands

"Say thank you" Miss Grant said making her friend glare at her but Miss Grant was focused on the laptop in front of her
"I'll knock your plate down"

"You'd die before wasting food" Miss Raven said then chuckled when Miss Grant didn't respond
"Thank you"

"You're welcome" Vanni said as we took a seat on the couch cause both women were on the floor.
"I thought your were banned from all missions"

"I'm banned from going out to do missions, besides, this is my specialty" Miss Grant said with her eyes still unmoving from the screen. We watched her type and make some sort of code while her friend feed her ever so often.
"We need to call my dad"

"What? No, take him to your house" Miss Raven said with her mouth full of food

"It's easier doing it here than moving a bloody body somewhere else" Miss Grant said finally looking away form the screen to stare at her friend
"Or am I wrong?"

"Whatever" Miss Raven said and as Miss Grant picked her phone up, Miss Raven ran out the room. Miss Grant smirked at her friend then proceeded to call her father over before attempting to stand up herself.

"All you have to do is ask" I said helping her up

"I swear I'm not this useless" she said then dry chuckled making me sigh

"You're hurt and shouldn't be moving around in general, you're not useless" Vanni said making me nod as she picked up the laptop and walked away while we followed

"Thank you" she said softly making a small smile appear on my lips while a big one appeared on Vanni's lips. We walked closely behind her until we reached a wall and she moved a vase close by making the wall slide open
"I'm-uh could one of you please help me down the stairs"

"Of course Miss Grant" Vanni said making me want to chuckle cause he picked her up making her yelp while happily walking down the stairs

"That is not what I meant" she said but Vanni just laughed as I lead them down the stairs

"He won't drop you if that's what you're worried about" I said with a small smile

"It's weird and embarrassing" she said making me chuckle

"Him picking me up like I weigh nothing is weird and embarrassing, with you, it's cute" I said before realising what words just left my mouth.

I was about to retract my statement when I saw a big smile on Vanni's face and a shy one on Miss Grants face making me immediately shut my mouth and keep walking. We reached a door and I was instructed to open it which lead up to a dimly lit room with a man chained up in the middle of it.
