Finally, the daycare was at peace.

No more chaos from children running around, screaming, and making messes - they had all gone home.

Moondrop had demanded that Y/N stayed in his and Sundrops room until everyone was gone, to calm themself down. Sundrop agreed and when Sundrop place Y/N under the covers of his bed, she almost instantly fell to sleep.

The two main attendants made sure to keep the children quiet to provide Y/N with rest and took care of everything while the children were there, and even when they left - by tidying up and Sundrop did a bit of Y/N's paper work, so that she wouldn't be overwhelmed when she was ready to get back to work again.

Y/N had woken up about 10 minutes ago, and has been walking around Sundrop and Moondrops room quietly, she was hesitant to be left alone after seeing that...thing.
But she didn't speak up about it in detail for fear that they would think she was being foolish, or blowing things out of proportion.

Y/N knew what she saw and she wasn't going to let anyone shrink what she saw down to "you're just imagining it" or "it was just a mannequin".
What she saw was real and deranged looking, she wanted to figure out why was it holding a hunters knife. The knife was rusted, and looked...well used. So, she could only imagine what it was used/intended for.

Was that thing going to kill Moondrop and herself? Or just Moondrop? Or just...her?

What was it doing there?
What was it waiting for?
What was it going to do?
And just what was it?

Thousands of thoughts were busy running through Y/N's head, trying to make sense of what had happened and what she had seen.

Y/N picked at her lips as she remained deep in her thoughts. The world around her was non-existent while she paced back and forth around their room.

Just as she was trying to solve the mysteries her questions held, the door creaking open made her jump out of her thoughts.
Her heart pounded in her chest, but when she whipped around to see who it was, she sighed it great relief.

"Hey, sunshine. How's my girl doing?"
Sundrop gave his usual cheery, dimpled smile.

"Oh...Sundrop.."
Y/N heaved.
"U-um, good, good yeah. W-what are you doing here?"

"It is 50% my room, sunshine. But this isn't about me, this is about you. How are you doing?"
Sundrop walked over to Y/N and bent down to her level.

Y/N sighed lightly and kept her gaze on anything but Sundrop, the world around her suddenly seeming more intriguing.

"Fine."
Y/N replied bluntly.

Although the H/C haired sweetheart said they were alright, the two of the knew that it wasn't the truth.

"Look at me when you say it, Y/N."
Sundrop said gently, trying to follow her eyes and get her to look at him.

Y/N couldn't do it. She tried, but she didn't want to lie to Sundrop. He was always so kind and caring to her, he was never anything but, so she couldn't lie to such an angelic soul.

"I...can't."
Y/N finally spoke up.

"Why not, sunshine?"
Sundrop patiently asked, a gentle look present on his face.

"Because I don't want to lie to you. I'm not fine, I don't know what I am - I'm just not fine...!"
Y/N's body started to fall into a state of unhappiness, tears falling from her eyes.

Y/N dipped her head into her hands to try and conceal the tears from the man infront of her, but it was evident as her voice cracked that she indeed was crying.

Sundrop immediately pulled Y/N back to his bed, picking her up and cautiously sitting them on it.

Sundrop brought her head into his chest, his head rested stop hers to show he was there and that he understood how she was feeling.
Y/N sniffled as she gripped his yellow striped shirt.

The door quietly opened and Moondrop walked in.
"Hey, how is she doing-?"

Moondrop stopped mid-sentence when he realised her sniffling and subtle sobs.

Moondrop silently walked over to the other side of Y/N and sat on Sundrop's bed as well. He raised a hand and gently brushed through their hair soothingly.

After a minute or two, Y/N's whimpers quieted and she sniffled. Finally, the poor sweetheart lifted her head from Sundrop's chest and wiped their tears off of her rosy cheeks.

"Sorry about your shirt, Sunny,"
Y/N gave him a gentle look.

Sundrop didn't even glance down at his tear-soaked shirt.
"Don't you even worry about it, it'll dry."

"Are you sure? I kind of got some mascara on it as well..."
Y/N let out a breathy laugh.

"It'll wash. Now, enough of your worrying, sunshine. Do you think you can tell me about what happened?"
Sundrop rubbed her back comfortingly.
"I know you already told Moondrop, but I was wondering if you could tell me in more detail...?"

Y/N crinkled her nose slightly at the memory of what happened earlier.
"Couldn't Moondrop just tell you?"
Y/N asked, hesitant to talk about it.

"Starshine, Sundrop needs to hear every detail from you. I couldn't tell him about it because I wasn't the one to witness it,"
Moondrop spoke, his voice slightly gentle - well, as gentle as it could be. His voice was still raspy and he didn't seem to know how to deal with emotions.

Y/N sighed.
"Do I have to?"
She pouted slightly.

"You don't have to, but I need a description, sunshine."
Sundrop smiled, trying to ease her nerves.

"Okay...fine. Listen up, cause I am not saying this again."
Y/N spoke firmly.

"Of course."
Sundrop confirmed.

Y/N then began describing exactly what the thing she had seen looked like. It was freaky, she didn't know what to think of it. But anytime she did think about it, it wasn't anything pleasant.

After Y/N stopped speaking, her gaze still glued to the floor, Sundrop looked at Moondrop.
They seemed to share a look of understanding and concern.

It was true.
She was back.
