Ch.16: Pool Time

Raizo POV

It was the next day after the battle against Kokabeil. School had just ended and to my surprise, there was a new member of Rias's peerage.

Xenovia: Hey Red Dragon Emperor. Raizo Tachibana.

Xenovia was with us, and she was wearing the Kouh Academy girls uniform.

Issei: What the--?! What are you doing here?!

Rias: Oh good, you found us.

Issei: Uhh, Rias? Why is she here?

Rias: She's the newly made knight of the House of Gremory. Welcome home, Xenovia.

Akeno: Now, it's important you get along with her Issei.

Issei: Wait, she's your new knight?! This has to be a joke!

Xenovia then unfurled her devil wings, surprising both Issei and Asia.

Raizo: So, you decided to become a devil, huh? When I told you to decide what you want for yourself, I wasn't expecting this.

Xenovia: I had some time to think after our conversation. And, after a conversation with Rias, I have a new goal in my life.

Raizo: Well, good for you.

Rias: It'll be nice to have the Durandal user added to our ranks. With this, you and Kiba will be the sword fighters covering our right and left flanks.

Issei:..-_-..That's so cool. Yay.

Xenovia: And I transferred to this school as a second year student earlier today. It looks like we get to work together~.

Issei: Are you trying to sound cute while making that face?

Xenovia: My goal was to mimic Irina. But I guess I just didn't quite get it right.

Issei: So, are you sure this is what you wanted?

Xenovia: I won't lie, a part of me still wonders if I was too rash in my decision. And for the little sister of the Devil King, she's been shockingly kind. I feel like I've made the right choice, but...I don't know.

Xenovia then tries to pray for some guidance, but now that she is a devil, every time she even thinks of the big man's name, she gets a massive headache.

Raizo: (Huh. Maybe she did rush in her decision making a little.)

Shirone: Anyone else getting a sense of deja vu?

Issei: That girl is a genuine crazy person. Oh, speaking of, what happened to Irina?

Xenovia recovered from her massive migraine, and stood up straight.

Xenovia: She returned to our headquarters.

She told us that earlier that day, she had gone to see Irina off. From what she said, Irina was very upset at the fact that her partner became a devil. Xenovia had also omitted the fact that God is actually dead. She said that Irina was a stronger believer in God than she is. And that she might not be able to handle such a grimm truth. She also explained how the church excommunicated her and branded her a heretic for knowing the truth.

Raizo: So that's why you didn't go back.

Xenovia: Yes. And Asia, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind showing me around the school sometime?

Asia: Oh no, I'd love to.

Xenovia: Also, Kiba. If it isn't too big of a deal, I think it would be fun to try out my Holy Sword Durandal against your Holy Devil Sword.
