Josie once again finds herself borrowing books from the library. However, her motives are pure. The volumes she acquires are about pureblood families and the Slytherin lineage.
Her goal is to conduct extensive research on the Gaunts and, with any luck, locate their residence. This way, she can plan a visit during the summer and perhaps obtain the horcrux that she suspects Tom has hidden there.
Despite the abundance of hope in her plan, this is Josephine's sole opportunity. Even if her visit to their house proves fruitless, it is still a step forward.
Carefully, she conceals the books in her bag as she exits the library.
But as she turns a corner, she encounters an unexpected hurdle. Remus and Lily are patrolling the corridor.
Oh fuck.
Panic sets in, but she reminds herself of her prefect status. Maintaining her composure, she makes her way towards her common room, walking right past them.
"Hi, guys," she greets with feigned exhaustion.
Lily furrows her brow, and Remus stands beside her, both appearing rather attractive, though she quickly scolds herself for such thoughts.
The library has just closed, and curfew has begun.
"Why are you out of bed?"
"I fell asleep while studying. I'm heading back to my common room now," she explains, and they buy her story.
"Alright, be safe," Lily offers a warm smile. Josie returns the smile before continuing her journey.
While she is indeed going to her common room, her real intention is to read the books, specifically in Helena's dormitory.
As she navigates the passage to the Ravenclaw common room, she considers ways to earn money. The most obvious option is to find a summer job, perhaps near Alora and Karina's residence.
After solving the riddle to enter the common room, she weaves her way through the bustling students. It is surprising to see so many of them at this hour.
Two girls stand near the girls' dormitory stairs, discussing Regulus Black.
"Yeah, have you seen Regulus Black this year? He's so hot," the blonde girl affirms.
Don't be jealous. He is hot. People are allowed to appreciate how hot he is.
"Excuse me," she mumbles, attempting to ascend the stairs.
"You're Josephine, right?" the blonde girl asks, tilting her head. Josie has only ascended one step.
"Yeah," Josephine replies, raising her eyebrows.
"I've seen you with Regulus. Are you two friends?" The blonde girl is from Hufflepuff, while the Ravenclaw girl she'd been talking to first is her companion.
Josephine hesitates for a moment "Kind of, I guess," she answers, knowing they are much more than friends.
"Is he single?"
No
"Not sure" She shrugs. Before the girl can say anything else, Josie quickly ascends the stairs.
You can't be jealous. No one knows you're dating him.
She sighs before entering Helena's room.
Josephine opens the door and closes it behind her. Helena appears, wearing a puzzled expression.
"Hi," Josie greets as she sits down in a dark blue chair and places her bag on her lap.
"I'm researching the Gaunt family to figure out their heirlooms and whereabouts," she explains.
Helena gives her a small smile. "Alright then, I'll leave you to it."
Josie opens the books and begins her research.

Josephine absorbs a plethora of knowledge that is rather unnecessary, such as the frequency of cousins marrying each other...
However, she stumbles upon crucial information.
One particularly vital detail is the existence of a specific heirloom, a ring that Tom Riddle has likely transformed into a horcrux.
But perhaps the most exhilarating piece of information is the Gaunts' last known residence. It takes considerable effort to stifle her laughter when she realizes she now possesses their address.
Carefully, she notes down the address before discreetly concealing it in Helena's room. No one ever goes in the room, ensuring her secret will remain safe.
At the very least, she is now armed with more valuable knowledge.
