A few days later, it becomes apparent that Davian is oblivious to the fact that she isn't interested in a second date. Despite her continuous rejections every time he asks, he fails to pick up on the hint.

It is becoming increasingly frustrating for her.

As she walks through the courtyard, hoping for a breath of fresh air, Davian once again approaches her.

"Josephine!" he calls out from behind. She closes her eyes, letting out a weary sigh.

She turns around, her eyebrows raised in exasperation. "What?" she asks curtly, tired of putting on a polite facade.

"I really enjoyed our previous date, and I'd love to go out again. Maybe on the next Hogsmeade trip?" he proposes.

"No, thank you," she replies, turning to leave.

"Come on, just give it a chance," he pleads, grabbing her arm and forcibly turning her back around.

"I've already told you no countless times. Is it not sinking in?" she retorts, narrowing her eyes.

A voice intervenes from behind her. "Let her go," Regulus speaks up, stepping forward and pushing Davian's arm away.

Davian scoffs. "Fine, I don't even like her," he mutters before storming off.

"Then why did you ask me out?" she rolls her eyes, shifting her focus back to Regulus, who is glaring at Davian's retreating figure.

"I would say thank you, but I'm quite pissed off that he listened to you and not me," she remarks, gazing back at Davian, who is stomping away like an upset child.

Regulus lets out a genuine laugh, catching her attention once more.

"How long has he been begging for another date with you?" he inquires.

"Since Sunday," she replies, noting that it is now Thursday. Today would have been their usual patrol day, but it has been rescheduled for Friday.

Regulus rolls his gray eyes in disbelief.

"Have you started to read the book I gave you?" she asks as they begin walking aimlessly.

"I am, and it's quite good. I'm really enjoying it," he replies. The book he gave her is already finished, and she is pleasantly surprised by how much she likes it.

As they continue in silence, Josie's thoughts drift to Professor Slughorn. Ever since she asked him about Tom Riddle, he seems to be ignoring her.

"Josephine?" Regulus's voice brings her back to the present.

"Yes?" she responds.

"Did you still want me to help you find that student?" he asks, tilting his head.

"It's alright if you don't have time. I asked Professor Slughorn about him, and he had a strange reaction and basically kicked me out of his office. It was weird," she explains.
