Josephine rolls her eyes playfully as she observes Dorcas nervously pacing in the dorm room.
"Cas, we have to leave for Hogsmeade soon. You look amazing, so just relax," Josie says, settling back on the bed. Dorcas is about to go on a date with Marlene, and her nerves are getting the best of her.
Dorcas groans and tosses a sweater at Josie. "Ow!" Josie yelps instinctively, even though it doesn't actually hurt.
"Come on, Jo, let's go," Dorcas says, grabbing her bag and heading out.
"Okay," Josie replies, putting on the sweater and following her. The winter weather is freezing, so she layers up in mostly black clothes, except for the blue sweater she has just put on. She has plans to buy gifts for her friends and family during the trip.
As they walk, Josie gazes out the windows at the falling snow.
"Josie!" Dorcas calls her name, bringing her back to the present. She hurries to catch up with Dorcas, who is waiting by the doors.
"Sorry," Josie says as she catches up.
Dorcas smiles and pulls her hand, leading her out the door before rushing off to meet Marlene.
"Rude," Josie mutters, trying to walk through the snow. As she approaches her friends, she can hear Pandora talking.
"I can practically feel Christmas in the air. Can you, Reg?" Pandora asks, and Regulus nods in agreement. Josie smiles at them as she walks up. Regulus is dressed in black pants and a green sweater with a black coat.
"Oh, Josie!" Pandora greets her warmly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders as they all begin walking.
"Hello," Josie says, returning the smile before focusing on the ground to avoid tripping.
"What are your plans today Josette?"Evan asks her, but she notices Barty seems upset. Both boys seem off, so she exchanges a knowing look with Evan, who shakes his head slightly, understanding her unspoken message.
She lets out a sigh before responding, "I mostly just need to buy gifts for everyone... I think that's it."
Evan nods, asking, "Are you coming ice skating with us?"
"Ice skating?" She tilts her head at him before looking forward again.
Regulus chimes in, "We do it every year before we have to leave for the holidays."
"Oh. I mean, I can if you guys want me to, but I can't ice skate, so..."
"Well, I have extra skates if you want to try!" Pandora offers with a smile.
"Sure," she agrees. Regulus didn't seem to be upset with what happened the other night. With how she tried to help them. Which she was thankful for. Just then, Barty takes an unexpected tumble down the small hill they are walking on.
