Josephine glances up from her book at the persistent tapping on the window, her curiosity piquing.
She frowns, puzzled by the unfamiliar owl repeatedly tapping for attention at the windowpane.
Staying perched on her bed, she cautiously approaches the window and opens it. The owl flutters in and emits a soft noise. Swiftly taking the letter, she watches as the owl swiftly departs before she can even unfold the message.
Narrowing her eyes at the abrupt departure, she shuts the window before delving into the contents of the letter.
It is an order meeting.
"Of fucking course," she mutters under her breath.
The message specifies a meeting in an hour's time, prompting Josephine to consider her transportation options. Remembering that Alora's fireplace is connected to the floo network, she figures it might be her best bet.
Preparing hastily, she speeds through her routine, though it feels insufficient given the looming meeting.
Leaving her room, she finds Alora in the kitchen, Karina absent as she is in town.
"Hey, my friend's want me to come over. Mind if I go?" Josephine inquires.
Alora turns to her with a nod. "Certainly, dear. I can drive you, or you could use the floo network."
Josephine senses Alora's knowing gaze and decides, "I'll use the floo."
With a subtle smile from Alora, Josephine leaves the kitchen for the living room where the fireplace stands, initially missing the bowl of floo powder beside it.
Gathering some powder, she steps into the fireplace, stating her destination before tossing the powder down.
Moments later, she emerges in an unfamiliar room that appears to be an old house. The living room she stands in houses a decrepit couch and rickety stairs leading upward.
Only two doors adorn the space—one seemingly an exit to the outside and the other adjacent to the fireplace.
She turns, wearing a forced smile. "Sir," she acknowledges, noticing his subtle nod toward the room he has just exited.
"Meeting's in there," Dumbledore points toward the room.
Josephine strides past him, entering the aged room that seems to be crumbling at its wooden seams. The table looks weathered, adding to the room's antiquated ambiance.
Expectedly, Fleamont and Euphemia are present, joined by almost everyone except Dorcas, an absence that strikes her as peculiar. Perhaps she has pressing matters to attend to.
Amidst the gathering, Josie catches Mary McDonald's infectious laughter in response to something Lily has just shared. Her gaze also lingers on the evident affection James holds for Lily.
